Excellent location of hotel to venture into York centre . Room was really clean and relaxing . We were heading off early the following morning and the reception staff went out of their way to sort out breakfast for us. Really kind and welcoming reception staff

We arrived to our room with a toilet that did not work and a bathroom that had not been cleaned. There was toothpaste in the sink and the hair in the bathtub was completely gross. The shower had mold in the corners. The fire alarm went off on two different days and it seems like this is an ongoing problem. The mattress and the pillows were as old as the hotel. Was a horrible stay.

Not the best of views,as in the centre of the hotel. Right above dining room and bar, quite noisy at times, with kitchen extractor unit fastened to our bedroom wall running till late at night and from 5am, in the morning. Lack of plug sockets in the room. Asked for an extension lead,as I use a CPAP machine. The reception staff knew straight away and were very forthcoming with one. Paid £142 for a nights stay including full English breakfast. Which I thought was pretty reasonable in comparison. Room was ok if a little tired looking.
What a horrible shock to stay here, the room was filthy, the breakfast area was equally unclean, the staff moral seemed extremely low, the quality and choice of selesti
We had a river view during our weekend stay, and it was perfect. The hotel is a little dated and could do with some updates, but aside from that it is clean, tidy and quiet. As the hotel is just over the river from the main centre, it meant you were able to have a good nights sleep. The location is perfect with it being minutes away from the centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Had a great stay staff really helpful and friendly highly recommended this hotel
Nice location next to the river and shopping. A boat tour is nearby.
Room was comfy, but the bed mattress was a bit too firm for my liking. Good for 2 or 3 nights.
Room was spacious and we liked the pre paid parking. It felt very secure. They had a luggage lift which was helpful.
Check-in staff not friendly, did not greet us, just handed me a paper to fill out. Breakfast hostess also struggling to be friendly. Check out staff was very friendly.
Besides the view of an ugly dirty courtyard, there was literally one outlet in the room. My husband and I had to take turns charging our phones. Though clean it was old and moldy and definitely needs to be renovated. The staff however were very nice.
Very nice area and very close to main things in york, easily walkable. We were able to get underground parking a bit small but it works. Bed was not comfortable though.
The hotel is a lovely gem in the city centre. Close to everything. Hotel staff were polite, courteous and couldn’t do any more to make our experience better. Reviews were accurate and we would definitely stay here again.
Comfortable rooms although the walls were a bit thin

The location is great and it helped that we had a riverside view. It’s in a great location - you feel you’re in the heart of the city but not in a busy location. You do get the noise from the pubs and clubs on the other side of the river so take earplugs or keep the window closed (no aircon). The bathroom could use updating but that feels like a minor thing really as the room is clean and comfortable. Bed and pillows are really comfy. Staff are really welcoming and friendly.
The hotel was superbly located just over the bridge from most things but at most a few minutes walk to everything you would want to do. Excellent filling breakfast each morning and the hotel staff were very helpful and polite. We were lucky enough to have a river view. It was lovely listening to the boats in the evening and the early morning rowers.
