The Space:

★ MANDARIN ESCAPE ★

Welcome to our retro-inspired, sunset-colored, 2-bedroom, 2,000 sq.ft. hilltop escape in Yucca Valley, California. We’re perfectly located 15 minutes from Joshua Tree National Park and 15 minutes from Pioneertown, in the desirable, safe neighborhood of the Western Hills Estates. Our home provides numerous outdoor spaces including a large, elevated deck with stunning panoramic vistas and an intimate hot tub tucked into the desert boulders.



★ LIVING ROOM ★

Stunning, never-ending views of the beautiful desert let incredible light into our warm, groovy living area. Lounge in our beanbag chairs in front of the big bay of windows as you sip your morning coffee, or gather amongst the pillows and blankets on our large couch while you Netflix & chill. We promise you’ll feel right at home.



★ OUTDOOR SPACES ★

Our deck is unmatched and truly what makes our house one of the most sought-after houses in the area. The miles of views in each direction provide one-of-a-kind sunrises, sunsets, and everything in between. Grill some burgers & veggies with your friends and family and enjoy them on our outdoor dining table. Relax and read a book while lounging on the daybed, or unwind around the cozy fire pit. We have lounge chairs so you can catch some sun, or might we suggest a yoga session to the backdrop of the beautiful desert.



Downstairs, under the covered outdoor patio, you can relax with complete protection from the sun while enjoying the same views. This area leads to our private hot tub, 2 cowboy pools, and additional lounge chairs. Finally, you’ll notice a table and chairs set amongst our private hill of boulders where you can take in additional desert and city views further away from the house.



★ KITCHEN & DINING ★

Continue to be amazed by the vistas while you cook in our fully-equipped kitchen. We have spacious countertops, double ovens, and appliances like a KitchenAid mixer, Café drip coffee maker, Smeg toaster, and more. You’ll find plenty of pots & pans, cooking utensils, baking trays, and serving dishes to make any meal possible. Enjoy your cuisine at our gorgeous, 6-person, oval indoor dining table, or while taking in the desert views, at our outdoor deck dining table.



★ SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS – 2 BEDROOMS ★

Both our Grapefruit Room and Lemon Room are extremely spacious and offer luxurious queen-sized beds, blackout curtains, ample closet space, desks to work from, and additional private seating areas. The Grapefruit Room is all shades of warm pink and is said to melt you right into relaxation. Our Lemon Room is filled with mustard yellows, has an additional couch to watch TV from, and features our famous ‘jungle cubby’.

We’re in a nice neighborhood of Yucca Valley, and shops, retail, and restaurants are all nearby.

◦ THINGS TO NOTE:

Paved Roads/Dirt Roads: No dirt roads

Cell phone coverage: Yes cellphone coverage

Fenced yard: Not fully fenced

Outdoor Surveillance: We have 1 outdoor front door camera, none inside the house.





◦ Wildlife: this is the rural desert and we share the space with the wildlife. You may encounter desert ants, mice, coyotes, or if you’re lucky a bobcat.



◦ Additionally, any unauthorized late check-out beyond the 15-minute grace period will incur a $100 fee



◦ Items left behind will incur a minimum return shipping fee of $50, depending on the shipping address



* Pet Fee is $100 per pet

- We are unable to accommodate cats due to the owner's severe allergy. Appreciate your understanding!



◦ RULES:

Noise ordinance:

Quiet hours are 10pm-7am. No external speakers allowed. Any noise related discrepancies will result in at least a $1000 fine.



◦ SMOKING POLICY

No smoking inside the house or within 10ft. Smoke residue will result in excessive cleaning fees



◦ Restricted Areas:

Any locked closet or room is restricted. If forcibly entered you could be held liable for any unaccounted for item.



◦ Hot Tub/Pool:

Hot Tub Use: Please avoid using the hot tub immediately after it’s been serviced, as chemical levels are temporarily elevated. We have weekly pool cleanings, this day may fall on your stay and your cooperation will keep the hot tub clean and balanced at all times.

Please rinse off any oils, lotions, or substances before entering the spa, as these can affect water quality and cause discoloration.

No drinking in the hot tub, please.

Be sure to keep the cover on when not in use, especially since we're in the desert and debris can easily get into the water.

Any misuse of the hot tub may result in an additional charge for extra maintenance.



Note on Cowboy Pool: The cowboy pool is a seasonal amenity and is closed during the winter months to protect the pipes from freezing and bursting. Cowboy pools are unavailable from November through March.



◦ Photoshoots & Video:

No un permitted photoshoots or videoing at the home. If you would like to use our home for those purposes please send us a message. Any unauthorized filming will result in a $5000 violation and production fee.



◦ YOGA INSTRUCTOR

We highly recommend having a yoga instructor teach a private class on our deck. We love @sageglowstudio in town!



◦ GUIDED MEDITATION / HYPNOTHERAPY

Enjoy a relaxing guided meditation or a healing hypnotherapy session full of self-discovery with renowned hypnotherapist, spiritual teacher, author, and founder of Desert Reset retreat, Cynthia Morgan. @thecynthiamorgan @desertreset
