The hotel had an amazing view . The pool closed earlier than what was advertised which was disappointing . The breakfast was amazing , the bar staff was exceptional . The room was spacious . The shuttle was easy to book and needed to get to town .

Very scenic on top of the hill. They provide transportation to the city center. If you’re looking for a more quiet and higher view of Amalfi I suggest this property.

The transportation and shuttle option is awesome for this hotel however it is not the cleanest. They also control the AC although you have the thermostat in the room the temperature won’t drop to what you put it to. When you leave the room you have to take the card out and the electricity shuts off ( AC shuts off ) so you come back to a pretty hot room.

GHE blew our expectations away, this hotel is breathtaking as soon as you step foot through the front doors. You can see it right from amalfi port & center. It is right up in the mountains making the views gorgina and far enough away that it’s quiet and relaxing away from the hustle & bustle of amalfi center. Has a free shuttle from morning til 10:45pm that is a lifesaver. Also has access to a free private beach that is 10x better than any free public one, beach also has an on-site bar and food menu that’s charged to your room making it even more convenient. The pool is something like i’ve never seen before with views of the amalfi coast/ocean. Hotel restaurant food & drinks are so good that you will not be missing out if you dine In as opposed to visiting an amalfi center restaurant. Their lemon cake is to die for!! Will be coming back!!!

This is a beautiful hotel. The views from the room and the hotel, in general, are stunning. Everyone from the front desk people, to the wait staff, the housekeepers, and the shuttle drivers were all extremely, nice, helpful, and professional. The hotel pool, and the views from the pool, are also amazing.

Amalfi town is beautiful, historic but a bit chaotic and crowded. The Grand Excelsior is a peaceful respite well above the town built into the cliffs. The hotel has the best views in all of the Amalfi Coast. The architecture and decor are very charming and almost a time capsule for 1950's Mediterranean elegance. We loved the friendly staff and the restaurant and bar were very good and all we needed. The highlight for us was the private elevator built into the cliffs taking you down to the private beach. Amazing.

When we first got to the property, after the hotel arranged for a Mercedes Van to pick us up from the train station. The back doors are wide open in the lobby. You feel like you’re about to walk out into the clouds. This hotel is a boutique hotel that is spacious and clean. The breakfast was lovely and overlooking the Amalfi coast was dream like. The staff was kind and attentive. They have their own private beach with free shuttles to the beach and town center. We loved our experience so much we plan on returning! One of the highlights of our trip! Use the public ferry’s to get to Positano (a must see) and other neighboring towns for only 10 euros per person- a cab ride is 140 euros to Positano from the hotel. The rooms were clean/spacious but the beds and bedding could be softer. Still we would highly recommend!
