Relax at Southern Exposure in Auburndale with a Pool & 76 Acre Private Lake.

Our home is a true lakefront home on a private access, 76 acre lake located in an established neighborhood that is well kept and a family environment that you can feel safe to be in. We have been a vacation home over 8 years now. ~We strive to be allergy free and therefore No Pets and No Smoking allowed. ~ You will be charged a professional cleaning fee. *We frequently host repeat guests who come to visit their local family, vacations, Florida summer and winter breaks, and for sports competitions. SPORTS: A short 3 minute drive to Lake Myrtle Sports Park and Auburndale’s Competition Water Ski Lake. We are so close that you can come back to your piece of paradise after a long hard day and pull up a chair or hop in your private pool to work on your tan. Enjoy the amazing natural lake view sunsets in the quiet, serene setting with the suns “Southern Exposure”. The pool is heated to 84* in the cooler months. You just need to cover it overnight to keep it warm. We keep the overall fees low this way. RELAXATION: We hope you like the wildlife as much as we do. We keep the habitat in its natural state as much as possible. Lake Whistler is home to a few whistler ducks, red wing black birds, comerant, coot, Ibis, red tailed hawks, great blue heron, sea gulls (in the winter), king fishers, crow, ring neck dove and a family of sandhill cranes that live in the neighborhood. We have a small otter family and you may see a tiny gator here and there, but they are professionally removed from the lake before they get big. Oh, we also have a few water skiers from time to time.
LOCATION: Auburndale- Just 5 miles off I-4. About 7 miles from Winter Haven and approximately 10 miles from Lakeland. We are 1 mile from Auburndale’s Lake Myrtle Sports Complex & Water Ski competition lake, We are 12 miles from the Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland. The Sun N Fun fly in is a 30 minute drive from Lk Whistler still close enough via the toll road. Local shopping within 3 miles away. Legoland/ Cypress Gardens is a 10 mile drive. Jump on I-4 for a quick jaunt to the Tampa area beaches or Busch Gardens in Tampa.
There are plenty of things to do here in the area. Here are a few things that we know of close by: Sun N Fun, Ski Fluid less than 10 miles away. Don’t miss the Cypress Garden Ski Show in Lake Silver in Winter Haven. We are close enough to visit Lego Land. Plenty of dining options in the area.
SUPPLIES: We supply start up rolls toilet paper and of paper towels, dishwasher tabs, some kitchen trash bags, Aprox 1-2 toilet paper rolls per bath room, liquid hand soaps, and the product line “Infuse” Coconut bath soap/ body wash, shampoo and conditioner and lotion. There is a hair dryer in each bathroom just in case you didn’t pack one. You can bring your own preferred items or pick up essentials when you buy groceries. We have a Park Style charcoal grill just outside the pool area in the back yard. Most often there are supplies left in the garage for grilling. The grill items and lighter are moved constantly so keep looking for that lighter. The kitchen has most everything you will need starting with stainless cookware and a set of non-stick cookware. More than enough flatware, plates, bowls and all you need to eat from and prepare with including plenty of cookie sheets and round pizza pans. Coffee lovers will appreciate the 10 cup drip coffee maker. We also have a Kerig style machine and coffee grinder. We have a blender for smoothies or frozen drinks. There are many other small appliances for a full cooking experience. You can dine inside at the 4 seat bar top and 4 at the table that overlooks the pool and lake or outside on the patio. The kitchen has been updated and has granite countertops and soft close cabinets. Wall to wall tile throughout, The master and guest toilets are newer and taller than the one in 1/2 bath aka/ powder room.
*Four bedrooms with sleeping for 8 people total. Bedside rugs in all bedrooms for your comfort since there is wall to wall tile flooring.
*The Master bedroom overlooks the lake and French doors opening to the private pool. The master bedroom TV is hooked up to local antenna. Feel free to bring your Fire Stick or Roku. There is a safe in the master closet. *The remaining bedrooms open into the hallway or the sitting room.
*There are two steps down to the patio where there is a table for 4 plus 4 lounge chairs you can easily place where you like.
*Back inside we have a nicely appointed formal dining room with seating for 8. *The comfortable living room has plenty of seating on the sectional with two end recliners. We have high speed internet and a flat screen TV with Roku.
*The laundry room has an older style washer and newer style dryer which allows for more efficient and quicker wash times. ~Do not put quilts in the washer as they are too heavy when wet and break the washer. We supply laundry tabs for the bedding to be started washing on the day of your departure. *The garage can be used to store your sporting goods or park one vehicle. There is an 8 vehicle maximum parking in the driveway. Do Not Park on the Grass so that the irrigation system is not damaged. Roadside parking causes trouble with the neighbors.

*Free things to do in the area. There are some hiking trails nearby. The Florida Trail is less than 3 miles away and Tenorock requires a permit to hike. Lake Bonnet Park Lakeland/Bonnet Springs Park.
Circle B Bar Reserve, Cypress Gardens Water Ski Show and all sorts of food and beverage venues in Winter Haven and Lakeland. More to come as this area is growing too. * There are several local menu’s on the secretary desk for you to review and dine out or order and dine at home.
*High speed Frontier WIFI throughout the house.
The small white plug in devises are pest control. Please do not unplug them.

Previously listed since 2017, with a property management company as ” SOUTHERN EXPOSURE! “ Same house with the same rules. We appreciate our guests and want you to enjoy your stay here! We have regular guests who book a year or more in advance, especially for winter & sporting events. For NEW GUESTS: We want you to know that we Do live next door, but will not normally interfere with your stay outside of pool and lawn maintenance. In 2024 we had a bad experience with a family group gathering for “funeral services”. They were in and out all day and night and did not abide by the rules set in place to protect our neighbors peace & privacy. Since we live next door we will interviene as necessary. We don’t mind our guests having visitors. Parking is limited to 8 vehicles. We do want to make sure they are respectful to our neighbors and quiet by 10pm. We do sit out on our front porch most evenings yet leave you alone to enjoy your stay here at Southern Exposure otherwise.
