A Maine staple

The room was spacious and the bed and room were clean. At first blush, the inn is dated but I saw on the inside of the room they they have updated the amenities: new towels, bathroom fixtures, lighting. Maine is in need of a good pressure washing everywhere so the inn fits into Maine’s no attention to detail. It’s a “that a do state” with very little upgrades. The attraction in upper Maine is of course Acadia National Park! Excellent! Other surprise locations were Bucksport and Bar Harbor. The inn is better than many of the other privately owned rentals.

We were just passing through and looking for an inexpensive place just to sleep for the night. The first room given to us was not clean. It was a pet friendly room which we needed to use because we needed the first floor. But we found pet hair on the sheets and fur balls on the floor. When we called the front desk with our concerns, they offered to give us another room. They showed us two rooms and let us choose. We were comfortable in the second room. It was clean and fine and had we gotten that room first we would’ve had no concerns. I will say the continental breakfast Was pretty good The dining area was clean the foods and breads were wrapped individually, and there were many options from which to choose. the staff was friendly and accommodating. Had it not been for that first room I would give it a better rating for a quick overnight stay.

First room we were given was so sub par it was laughable. Gross, tiny, dirty. Very nice staff member gave us a much nicer room in a different building. It was decent although door locks were broken and hard to use and no hot water, only luke warm. Would not stay there again.

Nice to park outside my room and carry my luggage in. Room was clean. Not a 5 star hotel but you’re not paying 5 star prices. Front desk attendants were very polite and helpful. Action item for management: Management needs to update Expedia and any others sites the rooms are marketed on. The booking confirmation says front desk unattended after 7pm but when I spoke with the attendants they confirmed the desk is attended 24/7. If I had seen the incorrect information I may not have booked and moved on.

Pros-the beds were very comfortable, the room was very clean and spacious Cons-the room vaguely smelled of old cigarette smoke, it was extremely dated (1960ish), there was no coffeemaker or blowdryer in the room, the bathroom was very small
