Ok but extremely dated

The hotel is clean. The people were amazing. However, the property is extremely dated. I would highly recommend if you come to this property do not do it in the summer. They only offer a very small fan and the temperature in the room became unbearable. To the point we had to have the open fully opened which in itself wouldn’t normally be a problem apart from the entire colony of seagulls on the roof squawking throughout the night. We’ve resorted to putting wet towels on to cool us down. We felt like you cut the air with a knife.

Positives were: very conveniently situated. Friendly staff, good breakfast and evening meal. Less good was my room was very small with scarcely enough space for the single bed; would have liked the reception to be open before 8 am; more importantly felt that the hotel was in need of a general refurbishment. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Está muy bien ubicado frente a la estación de trenes, buses y todo el comercio a un par de cuadras. El desayuno es personalizado y de excelente calidad. Las habitaciones limpias, cómodas y de buen tamaño. Lo mejor, el recepcionista Tim, una joya de persona (amable, encantador, amistoso y se toma el tiempo para . explicarte)….saludos desde Chile Tim!!

The weather was initially very hot and the hotel does not have air conditioning. An electric fan was provded and the windows opened, so it was possible to get relief. A source of ice for water and drinks would also help.These spurts of warmer weatherwill need some clever thinking and planningto maintain comfort for guests.

The room did not meet our expectation. The brown carpet was dirty and needs a good clean and the ‘hot water’ did not come on and we were told we had to keep the hot water from both the sink and shower on for 10 minutes before any hot water came out.

Pleasant experience in near perfect location

Very close to city centre and across from the train and bus stations. Breakfast very good with plenty of choice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Single room had space for table and chair. Coffee, tea water and biscuits provided in the room. Has a bar lounge.It is an old building so some damage noticeable.

We were very delighted and surprised with the size, comfort, furnishings and decorations of of our room. King bed was a nice break from the Queen in London. Bath. Staff ver friendly and helpful. Right across the street from the train station, and easy block walk from the bus depot. All kinds of nearby restaurants, shopping and sights like the Roman baths and river. We had a very nice breakfast in restaurant on the ground floor of the Royal. Had supper in the comfy little pub there too. No complaints, just right for our short stay to see Bath.
