The lake view was nice and the lady at the front desk was very nice also. Upon checkin, the room given to us was not cleaned. The bed sheets and comforter were ripped off the bed. Clean, folded sheets were left on the bed, not put on. Bathroom was dirty with pee stain on the toilet seat and hairs on the toilet and in the sink. We immediately went down to the desk and we were given a clean room immediately. This room was much better and actually clean. The downfall, the toilet didn’t flush in that room.

The hotel appeared to be very rundown compared to the pictures on their website. Cleanliness- decent, but our stay was 2 days and our room was not refreshed (clean towels, empty trash, make up bed, etc). Things appeared clean on the surface, but definitely don't look behind the toilet. It snowed the day we left. While the parking lot had been plowed, the steps from the hotel to the parking lot had not been touched and were sheets of ice. I'm not sure how we didn't fall. Salting is a minimum expectation when there's snow and ice.

I was disappointed with the "renovations" that was supposed to have been completed. The pool and hot tub were not available. The bar was not open. The carpet in our room was pretty dirty. The bed was hard and a couple of spots I could feel the springs. I am not sure what was renovated. The hotel is nice enough, I was expecting more -we used to stay there every summer and it just didn't seem to have any renovations.

We decided to stay at this hotel because of the convenient location to where our daughter lives and it was easy to walk to downtown to go shopping and dining. We liked the fact that it had recently been renovated but there were a few issues that need to be addressed. First the shower pan in our room was not properly sealed and as a result the water consistently leaked all over the bathroom floor when taking a shower. In addition, the window was also not completely sealed and there was a slight breeze coming from it. On the positive side, check-in went smoothly and the front desk person was very nice and friendly. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We also had a nice view of Lake Michigan, however the people staying in the room next to ours were arguing late into the night and us from getting a good night sleep the two nights we were there. We would stay here again.
