Been staying at this hotel since 2014 and have noticed the decline in the building. There is a charming old feel but that is starting to be over shadowed by the missing carpet, peeling paint, broken bathroom hooks and such. Great location but not what it used to be.

The breakfast menu was good and it was an American style breakfast which means there was more than donuts and coffee. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about Chicago and the room was comfortable except for not having heat, you know it is Chicago in January, other than that, I would recommend others to give the Whitehall Hotel a try and the CTA buses were across the street.
