Great Location for Attending Tigers Game

I drove to Detroit to attend a Tigers baseball game, and the Element Detroit was the perfect location for me, about a 5-minute walk to the ball park. The staff were all very friendly and helpful (thanks Daniel!), my room was clean and nicely appointed, the bed was very comfortable, and they provided a white noise machine (which was great because there was a good bit of mottorcyle noise outside!). The bathroom lighting was good (not the best), and the shower was very comfortable. The only downside is that there is no restaurant, but we found others close by that worked fine.

Its a nice place, however it is in the middle of all the activities, and during the weekend it can get kinda loud outside. Everything else was great.

Everything was great about my stay except there was an awful, constant noise from the generator and some other periodic screeching noise. I assumed it was the whole property and not just room 301. If ever I should request a refund it should have been for this stay. The front desk staff was 10/10, the room looked nice, bed was comfortable, and it was very clean.

I loved this hotel, it was in a great downtown location, the people mover right across the street and Q line 5 mins walk away, 5 mins walk to Comerica field and Ford field, and 10 mins walk to the basketball arena, access to the YMCA is included which is 1 min walk away. Free breakfast and a free happy hour Monday -Thursday 5.30-7.30pm with beer and wine, street level bar with great staff ,and a really awesome burger ,and a great roof top bar too, you can see the baseball field from there. Great front desk staff and breakfast staff were wonderful too, food was delicious, free breakfast included scrambled eggs, home fries and meat, a yogurt bar, cereal and juices, every other day a custom choice was included, the meat was either sausage patties, links or turkey bacon. Housekeeping on the other hand were disastrous, 4 days into my stay ,I asked front desk if housekeeping could empty my trash that had not been emptied in all that time and replace the toilet tissue that was down to its last , and I had to ask again when I came back as it had not been done, I am not complaining about the beds not being made or towels not replaced but come on ,we are tourists that eat out, I don’t need to be still smelling my food 4 days later, the beds don’t get made or towels replaced except on a rota and they didn’t impress me by making my bed the day before I left and I stayed for a week! But I would still stay there as the rest of my experience was outstanding.
