This property is in a wonderful area in Oltrarno. Unfortunately, the apartment was disappointing. There was black mold growing along the baseboards outside the shower. We thought we could get through it, but noticed mushrooms growing from the wall on the third day, an by evening they had doubled in size. We were supposed to be there for five nights but left after three due to health concerns. This is unacceptable, clearly identifying a mold issue. When we let the owner know, he offered to have it cleaned the next day, but when we asked what time to expect cleaners he didn’t respond. His assistant called around noon the next day and arranged to come at 5pm to see the issue- although we’d already decided we would be leaving. When we informed the owner we were leaving and would like a refund for the last two nights, we never got a response. (On top of that, the bed was very uncomfortable, although linens were clean. The kitchen was fairly well appointed- however missing basic items like dish soap.) Overall, we do not recommend staying here unless drastic improvements are made.
