Lovely owners but dirty

What can I say? We booked last minute and you could tell from the photos that this place was going to be a bit quirky. The location is totally amazing as it is right next to a river and you can just access it easily from the pension. Perfect for those who like mucking about on the river or swimming. Our kids had so much fun. BUT the room was just so dirty and damp. It was probably due a complete overhaul about 10 years ago....cobwebs, dirty kitchen, damp rising up the walls, huge drapes and furniture that just absorb smells. The owner is soooooooo lovely - really helpful and kind so I wish I could give this a high rating but I just couldn’t recommend a stay there.
