The staff were nice and kind. Were really helpful even with the language barrier. The rooms are always clean when you're in Japan. You can always count on cleanliness in Japan. Naturally, the room we had was a bit small from your average double-sized bedroom, but it was completely manageable with our 2 check in luggages and 2 carry on. Great price for what we got. Breakfast was okay, but useful if you don't want to worry about breakfast in the morning. Recommended stay for budget travellers.

Great place to stay in central Kyoto

The price was amazing and the value I got was just incredible. I realize it was low season but I would check this hotel first if I stayed in Kyoto again.

This wasn't in the heart of the Kyoto center but we paid roughly $33 per night. Did not have daily cleaning but left fresh towns and pajamas on the door every afternoon. The room temp could not be cooled and they had the windows wired shut. So the sleeping conditions were not ideal for my liking but my wife loved it. I was able to crack the window a slight bit but the late night noise from the street sounded like they were filming Tokyo Drift 7 every once in awhile. So we kept the window shut and the noise was gone. I would high recommend this hotel and just deal with the room temp if that is an issue.

Very nice hotel with excellent staff. It might have been more difficult to get there without our local friend who understood Japanese, but it was worth the effort. Would gladly stay there again on next trip to Japan.

Close to bus stops to Kyoto Station and Highashiyama District. Also close enough to walk to Kyoto Station if one prefers to walk--nice 15-minute walk. Family Mart across street was convenient. Pharmacy close by was also convenient.

This is a good budget friendly place to stay when you want to visit the famous tourist spots of Kyoto. Staff are always friendly and humble. Room is small as I expected and compact but give you everything you need from wifi to mirror screening on the 27 inch TV and easy to link to. I love the Japanese robes they give you and replenish things daily. Restaurant food is good as well. I took mostly the taxi or Uber to get around Kyoto (Bamboo Forest and temples) or walked to places like the Ninja & Damurai museum located at a large popular market.
