My son and I traveled from Portland Oregon to celebrate his graduation from high school. This was our favorite place we’ve stayed in our short 8 day whirl wind trip. So Kyoto feels more like an Air B&B than a hotel, which we love! It felt like home. Thank you So Kyoto I hope to come back and stay again!

The room worked very well for three of us! It was clean, well outfitted, sufficiently spacious, with comfortable beds/seating, and having in room laundry facilities was great. It’s a short walk to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, two train stops, and a lot of food/coffee/shop options. This was a great base for exploring Kyoto.

I stayed at So Kyoto for two weeks with a friend (shared room) and my father (his own room). The location is perfect if you want easy access to Fushimi Inari Taisha and transportation (less than 10 min to Kyoto station). The rooms were quite big compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at in Japan! The washing machine was a big plus for a long stay. Beds were comfy (on the firm side) and other included amenities were very nice as well. Self check in/out was very easy. Definitely recommend! Definitely let the staff know if you use luggage delivery as the entrance was hard to find for the service. Thank you to the kind staff person who helped retrieve our suitcases!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and comfortable with good sized, cosy beds. It’s an easy walk from both the local and the JR stations. There are convenience stores and eating places close by. The only thing I would have liked to know in advance is that there is no lift. At nearly 70 I am a bit old to be lugging a heavy suitcase up two flights of stairs! Otherwise, it was an excellent stay.

Near Fushimi Inari

Not a hotel as such but a set of 6 rooms off a central staircase. The rooms are quite large and have a separate room with a washing machine and shower. The location is perfect for the famous Fushimi Inari Taisha temple (the one with all the gates). There are two stations nearby to get to central Kyoto which takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Best hotel out of the rest in Japan

Perfect stay. Good and reasonable price for a huge accommodation. We keyed in the wrong date but the staff was too kind to help us with the arrangement. Everything looks very new in the hotel and it was our favourite hotel stay out of the 4 we had in Japan. It’s super convenient too - Just a few minutes walk from 2 different metro stations. The staff are also so friendly when they saw that it was raining and went ahead to help us with protecting our luggage by putting plastic over it. My partner and I plan to come back to this hotel if we are ever back to Kyoto:)

La habitación es excelente, creería que es como una habitación tipo tradicional (no se como es realmente una casa japonesa) y tiene todo tipo de amenidades como pantuflas para el interior y para el baño, cepillos para el cabello y para los dientes, un pequeño refrijerador, y hasta un calentador de agua y te verde. Entre otras amenidades. El baño está completamente equipado y la habitación incluye lavadora y detergente para una carga de ropa. El check es de autoservicio pero es muy intuitivo. En general, fue una estancia excelente. Cuando regrese a Kioto me hospedaré aquí de nuevo en el So Kyoto Fushimi Inari.

Clean, big rooms and confortable beds. The washing machine in the room is a big plus. No human in sight with an unpractical way to get the keys, and the impossibility to get in the room early even if it's available and ready.
