Service and staff were absolutely fantastic. Very polite from booking in. To checking out. A great visit so have had to book again. Exceptional afternoon tea. Loved the drawing room. Bedrooms are great. The background music in thr longes a little loud for back ground. That’s my only criticism.

Couldn’t fault the room really, only problem was the shower you had to be so close to the as the water tricked out the monsoon head The food in the restaurant was below par and our mains came around 50-1hr after our starter, glad we didn’t opt for the £100 tomahawk!! We would have had a desert but didn’t want to risk it The breakfast was a lot better albeit but the bacon was fairly cold The health spa is fantastic apart from the jacuzzi could do with an overhaul to keep it up with the rest of the spa facilities, some jets are Bailey working and others are OTT! Also people keep having to get out the jacuzzi to start the jets The grounds are fantastic and the decor is sublime. Conclusion better food and slightly better service in the restaurant

The hotel is very nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful, however, we were disappointed with the stay overall. We stayed in a classic (cheapest) room and although the bed was comfortable the furniture in the room was cheap and the wardrobe rickety. The spa was one of the worst we've experienced, the pool overly cold as was the steam room and the jacuzzi. The restaurant used to be something special, not anymore. The food was ok but we were looking for something more than a mid range pub menu. Breakfast was also poor, we've had much better choice and quality in a premier inn. We've stayed at this hotel three times and this will be our last. We've stayed in much better hotels for the price.

Unfortunately, this stay was very disappointing. I was kept awake for most of the night by a loud, constant buzzing noise in the hallway outside my room. I contacted reception twice during the night and was later told it was caused by a valve that couldn’t be switched off, so nothing could be done. After such a poor night’s sleep, I tried to rest in the morning, only to find the shower had no hot water at all—just freezing cold. Overall, the lack of sleep combined with the hot water issue made the stay far below expectations.

We stayed here recently and unfortunately left feeling quite uncomfortable and unwelcome. The bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, which made it difficult to sleep. The room was also unbearably hot at night, even with the radiator turned off. The air conditioning was not working, and although reception said they would bring a fan, this never happened. We enquired about having breakfast brought to the room and were told by a receptionist that this was not an option, and that we could instead take plates of food back to our room — which completely defeats the purpose of room service. The following morning, I checked the hotel website to confirm breakfast times and saw that breakfast in bed is in fact offered. I also later saw a breakfast trolley being prepared and taken to a guest room, which is what prompted our original question. At breakfast, we were offered hot drinks. I asked for a coffee and was told I needed to get it myself from the machine. Shortly after, I overheard the same staff member, while laughing, telling a colleague that I had asked for a coffee and that she had said no — only to then see her bring a coffee to another table. My partner and I have stayed in many hotels and do not expect perfection, but we do expect to be treated consistently, respectfully, and with basic courtesy. Unfortunately, this stay made us feel singled out and unwelcome, which really overshadowed the experience.

The hotel had been completely overtaken by a very large and somewhat lawless wedding..., reckless parking outside and along the avenue, lounge taken over by hairdressers, make up assistants, bar extrememly rowdy, heavy security presence at hotel entrances, unsupervised children up and down the corridors banging on all the bedroom doors, late night shouting and arguing outside and inside, security questioning when trying to enter the hotel, police called to enforce removal of vehicles blocking driveway, the list is endless. Two nights of this is neither restful or relaxing or enjoyable. Quite an intimidating environment.

The room was spacious and large enough to accommadate 2 double beds. Instead it had a double which was 2 large singles pushed together and a pull out bed which was so uncomfortable it couldnt be slept in. We all slept in one bed. No dressing gowns were in the room. The bar meals were expensive and were standard if not poor. The staff were polite

Staff at Oulton Hall are the stand out feature. From check in to Oliver in the restaurant to the waiting staff at breakfast, all are well above expectations. Old school service where staff wait for you to pass rather than rushing to get where THEY need to be is actually quite refreshing these days. Can some things be improved, sure but this hotel has a lovely pool, great dinner and breakfast and just a lovely vibe. Check it out, for the most of us, it’s a wonderful experience.
