Smart, cosy, stylish, self-contained studio flat, in a block of flats in a great Central London location. Beautiful building, recently renovated. Guest get the exclusive use of the premises. Located in Zone 1, just between Paddington (1 minute walk) and Lancaster Gate (1 minute walk) tube stations. Very close to Hyde Park (1 minute).
The flat is on the top floor (5th), with a lift up to the third floor.

It's a lovely decorated studio flat, with double bed, kitchenette, shower, toilet, and all the nessesary amenities needed for your stay.
Perfect central location, just 1 minute walk from Hyde Park and about 10 minutes walk from Oxford Street and West End area.
Guests will have fully private usage of the whole studio with its own bathroom. Guests will be provided with clean sheets, towels, soap and shampoo, and basic hygiene products.
Recently we've added TV with Netflix subscription.
Kitchen in the living space equipped with fridge, washing machine with dryer, microwave, kettle, cutlery and dishes.
Please treat the place nicely and strictly no smoking.

5th(4th in UK) story nightmare with luggage. Lift to 3rd story broken the whole stay.

Once able to get up to attic apartment, it was clean and quite adequate. For myself with a bad knee and 70yrs old, although overall younger than my years, it was very daunting when we arrived late, as our train was late by 2 hrs, we were tired and then found broken lift with no one to help.

Not worth it

After landing in London, we still had not received our check in instructions that we were told we would receive 24 hours prior to check-in. It didn't take long for him to respond and the instructions were very clear. Upon arriving at the flat, the apartment was approximately 55-60 degrees F. The window was left open and the heater was not on. There was hair in the shower. The toilet didn't flush for more than half of our stay. We tried reaching out and he finally responded a day later that he would send a plumber the following day. The plumber came and sent him a video that the toilet was flushing fine, so nothing was done. He responded that the building was just old. When we arrived back, the toilet again was not flushing. We could get it to flush 2-3 times per day. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The sheets were stained and the pillows were so flat they were basically useless. In my original message to about the toilet I also asked for an extra pillow case because one of the pillows didn't have one. We never got an additional pillowcase. If you still decide to stay here, the wifi modem is stilling on a chair under the table if you have trouble finding it.

Comfy Stay

We had a comfy stay at Alon’s. We have stayed with them at other property, and the property manager is very responsive to any issues to try to help to resolve. Overall good and comfortable, and a good location. Would recommend.

Can’t beat the location!

As a solo traveller, this was the perfect flat for my stay. Check in was simple and the building felt very secure. It was still warm when I arrived so the addition of the two fans were life savors. This flat is on the top floor which allows a lovely view but you will need to walk up some stairs since the elevator stops at the 3rd floor. That should not be a deterrent because the location is so close to Paddington station allowing for a quick commute to and from the airport. There are a TON of cafes and restaurants nearby. Would definitely recommend!

Le logement a été une très bonne surprise, compte tenu des quelques avis défavorables que j’avais lus en amont. Contrairement à ce qui a pu être écrit, la propreté était au rdv, la sdb très propre, les joints nickels, bien que ce soit un petit studio, à 2 personnes il était bien suffisant. Pas aussi bruyant qu’il a été écrit, certes on entend un peu l’extérieur ou le voisin, mais à Londres c est chose courante. Et je confirme qu’il y a bien un ascenseur, que nous avons trouvé le 2 eme jour, le premier jour nous avons donc gravi les nombreuses marches d’escalier, ce qui nous a permis d’éliminer nos fish and chips! Il est excellemment bien situé ! A 3 minutes à pieds de la station paddington, le rêve! Très bel immeuble, le quartier bien sympa, à 2 pas de Hyde Park. La communication avec Alon excellente, il répond rapidement et est à l’écoute de la moindre demande. Je recommande ! Merci Alon pour votre gentillesse et votre prestation. Claire

Short stay in London

The location of this flat is really great! It’s very close to Paddington station and the tube so it was very easy to get around. It was just enough space for my daughter and I to stay. It was very clean and had a small kitchenette. I would definitely stay again.

Misleading Posting

The location is great, but the room isn't worth the price. It's fine as a clean room to sleep, wash clothes, cook, but you can get all that from a hostel for far less. Heaven forbid you stay during a hot month. When we arrived it was 80 degrees Fahrenheit in London and the room (fifth floor) was a furnace. The walls were hot to the touch and we could barely breathe. No a/c, just a window and a small fan, and we were given instructions not to leave the janky window open at night or while away because a gust of wind might break it. We were supposed to open it only when we could "keep an eye on it." We did get an extra fan the second day, but really we were only spared by dropping temperatures. Don't book in the summer. Additionally, the photos are misleading. It's just not as nice as it looks online (brick wallpaper, eg), and far smaller than it appears. And there was no trash bin, also no hand soap in the bathroom (we were told to provide that ourselves). Don't expect a bottle of wine waiting for you as one photo suggests. And some design features of the studio make poor use of space (a huge closet for tourists, a smoke detector above the stove that goes off instantly when you cook, eg). Lastly, the elevator only gets you to the 3rd floor, so don't book if accessibility is an issue.

Bonne localisation mais très petit

Très bien localisé près de Hyde Park et de la station Paddington. Nous avons apprécié la laveuse. Par contre, si vous prévoyez cuisiner sur place, c’est trop petit. Il faut voir cet appartement comme une chambre. Une poubelle aurait été appréciée. Ceci étant dit, le prix du logement est avantageux.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!

Let me begin by saying, we weren't even able to stay a single night of our 6-night reservation. The biggest and most glaring con was the heat. We were there during a fairly warm June for London, but not sweltering, in the low 80s. We knew, based on the listing, that there wasn't going to be air conditioning, but had no idea it was going to be so unbearable. There was no fan and only one small window we weren't even allowed to keep open while we slept. I have lived in North Carolina and Virginia without air conditioning, so I know heat. and this was unbearable, especially for the price. As soon as we got into the room and felt how stifling it was, we opened the window and notified the host, and waited a few hours to see if it would cool down. It didn't cool down even a little. The host's suggestion was to go out and buy a fan. Unacceptable. Also, the listing mentioned that the apartment would have basic bathroom toiletries. There was an empty bottle of hand soap and 1 roll of toilet paper for 2 people for 6 days. During our few hours in the apartment, we decided we weren't going to let this VRBO ruin our vacation, so we found a hotel right down the road and were able to salvage our trip. Despite not staying a single night there, the host has refused to give even a partial refund and has ignored any further communication even though the last reviewer got a refund. Lucky them. I've been using VRBO for 10 years, and this is the worst place I've ever stayed. Seems predatory.

Unfortunately our stay at this accommodation didn’t go as planned. We were messaged a few hours prior to arriving to advise the room wouldn’t be ready until 1-2 hours after our advised check-in time, however were allowed to drop our bags at 11am (we arrived shortly after 5am into London - had to pay to store our bags elsewhere). The location is great! Close to transport, dining and parks. This is the only positive we had to say, as we ended up leaving as soon as we got into the room. The apartment is on the 5th floor of a building that has a very narrow staircase. The building isn’t well maintained (notes from residents about rats) and lift is tiny (1 person and a suitcase is a tight fit) and only goes up to the 3rd floor. Getting suitcases up 2 levels via stairs was HARD. We appreciated being allowed to drop our things earlier, but we wouldn’t allow people into our apartment when not clean as it does give a bad impression (hair, rubbish, dirty towels etc. from the previous people). The apartment was very small. The bed had a very thin and soft mattress, thin pillows and the room was very hot (on a cold day). The bathroom was tiny, with black mould everywhere, rusted metal and a toilet that didn’t flush even when held down. We messaged the host and Vrbo ASAP to ask for a refund and didn’t get a reply until a while after, when we had already left for a random hotel around the corner. Very stressful and disappointing. We were thankfully refunded.

Gute Lage, aber nicht wirklich gut ausgestattet

Wir haben uns für dieses Objekt entschieden, um ein wenig Geld zu sparen und selbst kochen zu können. Dies war leider nicht möglich, das kein sauberes Geschirr oder überhaupt Geschirr vorhanden war. Wir haben unser Müsli mit Gabeln gegessen, da keine Löffel vorhanden waren und ein Kochtopf war auch nicht vorhanden. Dafür gibt es eine gute Mikrowelle. Das Badezimmer ist total verschimmelt, da darf man weder empfindlich sein, noch genau hinschauen. Bei schlechterem Wetter gesellen sich gerne Ameisen in der Wohnung ein. Wir waren 5 Nächte dort und fanden nicht alles schlecht. Die Lage ist hervorragend und das Appartement ist für zwei Personen von der Größe her vollkommen ausreichen. Die Aussicht ist ein Traum. Die U-Bahn erreicht man in 3 Minuten fußläufig und von dort ist man sehr schnell überall. Alles in allem war es ein schöner Aufenthalt, aber wir haben uns auch nur zum Übernachten in der Wohnung aufgehalten!

Studio très bien placé pour rayonner. Le quartier est vivant et on se sent en sécurité. Le studio est bien pour deux personnes mais pas plus. En positif: l’emplacement et la possibilité de se faire à manger. En négatif: peu entretenu, couettes tachées, pratiquement pas de vaisselle (une seule casserole inutilisable, pas de cuillères, pas d’eau chaude à l’évier, ascenseur en panne depuis plus d’un an…) Le prix est cependant correct pour Londres.

Terrific location a few blocks from Paddington; tiny studio up five flights, but great value!

No problems with this flat. Extremely small, no TV (but it had wifi), and at the top floor of a block of flats, which meant a tiring climb upstairs with luggage when the lift - which only goes to 3 of the 5 floors - wasn’t working if someone left the door ajar so it couldn’t be called down. But it was clean, comfortable, superbly located for Paddington station and tube, and excellent value. I would stay here again, but you need to be fit (luckily, I am)! Alon the host was easy to contact, though the listing disappeared from the HomeAway website after I booked and paid for it. This apparently had something to do with a 90-day limit for listing, but all turned out well.

Not what I expected

There are 97 stairs to get in. There’s a VERY small lift that only goes to the 3rd floor. Two more flights to carry luggage up. Once you’re in, it’s not the quaint brick walled interior I pictured, but cheesy wall paper. It is extremely small. One wine glass and another small glass. Not very well appointed compared to other VRBO flats I’ve rented. The bed was VERY comfortable, however.

Cute + cozy in a great location

We stayed at Alon's property in April of this year and could not have been happier with the experience. The room was a bit smaller than anticipated, but when all you need is a shower and a bed, it worked out great. Very clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of amenities for our weeklong stay. The neighborhood is beautiful, right across from Hyde Park and a couple Underground stations. We were able to pick up late-night food at a few places nearby on the nights we came home late. Both Alon and his property manager checked in on us midway through our stay to make sure everything was OK, which was appreciated. One word to the wise: the elevator only goes up so far, so you do have to walk up a couple flights of stairs, which was no problem for us but might not be suitable for everyone. Overall, everything was wonderful, we had a great time and would recommend Alon's flat - and we'd stay there again for sure! Thanks, Alon!

Great location in walkable neighborhood

This was such a great place to stay. The place is small/cozy but it is in such a great location. I found the neighborhood to be an amazing place for exploring central London with easy access to many different train lines and the express line to Heathrow. The check - in instructions were super clear and everything went really smoothly. The stairs may be too much for anyone with bad knees or if you're out of shape but the elevator at least gets you up more than half way. The church down the street also has free piano recitals at lunchtime (at least during the summer) and they are amazing. This gem is also within blocks of two or three convenience stores and several restaurants and Hyde Park. I would definitely stay again if I find myself back in London. One day was pretty warm and a fan would have been amazing but opening up the windows helped a bit. Overall, this was a fantastic experience.

FALSE advertising--do NOT believe the pictures

Although the manager is courteous, he did not meet us at the property. We were surprised to arrive and find it NOT as advertised, nor as pictured. It was too small for a couple, it was dirty, cold, and downright scary. The picture shows a brick wall (peeling mismatched wallpaper is what you'll find.) Instead of the desk as pictured, there was a rickety bistro table and two flimsy chairs, the only escape from the tiny bed, shoved up against the outer wall. The pillows were bare, and stained. The "extra" duvet was even worse--blood stained and NO cover available. There was no hot running water in the kitchen, and there were no kitchen linens at all. (We used the hot pot to sterilize the dirty tea cups so that we could use them.) The shower was moldy--clearly it is not maintained. Even were it clean, it is too crowded with the hot water panel to even stand properly. We had booked for 2 nights near the beginning of our 2 week trip, and worse, we had booked for 3 nights at the end of the trip. By morning of the first stay, I had written to complain and to cancel the second stay, leaving 7 days for it to be re-rented. Instead of offering to clean the property, the manager argued that no one else had ever said it was dirty and uncomfortable--I doubt he's ever entered it. He tried to switch us to a different property--although I note that this contravene's HomeAway policy-- for the second stay--but even his link failed to work so that we could look at it. Since my cancellation was for cause, not frivolous, and I had paid in full for both stays, I asked for a refund on the second stay only. He refused, saying the cancellation policy is clear. Later, he claimed that although he "tried", he had been unable to re-rent it. This did not seem true, as I had tried to book it under another name for those nights and it was labeled "unavailable". He offered a meager "good faith" refund. I asked why I should pay for "cleaning" -- not only for the stay where I DID stay, but also for the cancelled booking when ostensibly NO ONE had stayed, and he offered to refund second cleaning fee.

Perfect place to extend our London trip by two days

This was a perfect place to sleep for us for two nights before we caught the Heathrow Express from Paddington. In a quiet neighborhood, close enough for dinner at a couple of nearby pubs (The Victoria and The Mitre) and with many breakfast choices in the shops near Paddington. Only drawback was when someone forgot to close the elevator door; then we had to walk up the full 5 flights to the flat!

Fantastic location; has everything needed!

I spent two weeks here on vacation and had a really positive experience. The flat is small but it was perfect for a solo traveler and had everything I needed (the washer/dryer was a huge plus for trying to travel a bit light!). The shower is definitely tiny, but again, it's manageable and any space constraints are by far outweighed by the fantastic location. It's about 5 minute from Lancaster Gate and Paddington underground stations, which gives you easy access to almost every line (Central, District, Circle, Hammersmith, and Bakerloo); being in zone 1 makes travel much faster and keeps commuting costs down since you're not going through multiple zones (also super convenient to catch the Heathrow Express into Paddington and it's only a quick 3-5 min walk to the flat!). The neighborhood is very safe, and there's a small convenience store about half a block away and Tesco is about a ten minute walk; there's plenty of restaurants within walking distance, though I was normally out and about during the day. Diana, the property manager, was very responsive when I had a small issue earlier in my stay and then later about checkout procedures. I occasionally had some noise from neighbors at night (that's apartment living...), but otherwise the flat was very quiet despite its central location. I would definitely stay here again when I'm back in London.
