Stayed at the Thistle a few times now and I'm happy to see the improvements in the reception area, making it look brighter and more appealing than it's previous dark and somewhat drab ambience. The rooms seem to have been refreshed too, clean, nicely furnished and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast is spectacularly good with a wide range of cooked and continental options. Staff are friendly and helpful and, rather importantly, the Thistle is excellent value for money and very convenient for Heathrow T5: I wouldn't stay anywhere else should I need a bed for the night before or after a flight. The one thing I would really like to see is a covered walkway to the Heathrow pod station with a better surface for hauling those heavy suitcases.

What outstanding service, the staff were outstanding and very helpful. The breakfast was great. A good start for the day. The service to the airport was one of the easiest I have had in a long time. Dropped off at the front door, couldn't have been better.

The reception staff was professional and helpful. The room was very small, but expected for an airport hotel. However, there was only one USB port I can plug my electronics into with no outlets to accommodate American devices. Also, I had to hunt in the bathroom for a roll of toilet paper since there was none. The room was too hot and I couldn’t get it to cool by the time I left.

This experience clearly highlights the worst customer service I’ve come across at any hotel. I stayed for one night and paid upfront through Expedia. A few days later, I noticed that the hotel had charged my credit card again. When I reached out to the hotel, a representative confirmed it was a mistake and assured me the money would be refunded promptly. It’s now been two weeks, and despite reaching out multiple times via messages and emails, the hotel has neither returned my calls nor issued a refund. Be cautious.

Good affordable option if you need to get an early flight from LHR T5. The staff were very friendly and check in/out quick. There’s a hotel shuttle bus to and from the airport or you can get the public bus which stops right outside the hotel. The hotel is a little tired looking and needs a a bit of a refresh. But was clean and the bed was comfortable which was all we needed for one night.
