Not as expected

I’ve stayed at this hotel before and usually had a good experience, but this visit was disappointing. Our bathroom flooded and we were given a disabled access room, which had a bright green light that stayed on all night, making it very difficult to sleep. When I mentioned this at checkout, the response I received was just “oh I know, sorry about that” which didn’t feel good enough. A real shame, as I expected better based on my previous stays.

Wictoria at the front desk was excellent. She greeted us every morning with a bright smile, and always asked how our day was and what our plans were. She always asked if we needed anything, and even surprised us with a bottle of champagne for my birthday! Love the location of this hotel, in the heart of SOHO. Walking distance to many train stations, and all kinds of great food options. The rooms have central air, coffee maker, tea kettle, tons of towels and toiletries for the duration of your stay. They also have an elevator! This was our second time staying here, and would definitely stay here again in the future.

Location is great if you want to be in the middle of everything. If you’re looking for a quiet area this isn’t it. Great proximity to Piccadilly Circus, the West End and China Town.

Had a bad experience and ended up moving to a different hotel for the rest of our stay. The night staff was useless. We had an overflowing shower and toilet that wouldn't stop running. The front desk person was on a personal call (we had returned about 15 minutes earlier) and wouldn't answer the phone when we called. ended up walking down to the desk and he was still on the phone. He sent up another person who said would talk to the manager. Came back 15 minutes later to say there were no other rooms available and then confessed there was no manager on duty when pressed. Also no maintenance people after 8:00pm. The morning staff and manager was very apologetic and attempted to make good on the situation by moving us to a suite etc but we had already booked a new place. They did refund the remaining nights and credited for half the first night. They did their best to address the situation which I appreciated but we already had a new place booked and weren't going to stay. We may give them a try on our next visit as they offered up discounts and upgrades to make up for the issues.

Great location

Montcalm Piccadilly is right in the heart of Piccadilly Circus - which is great for getting around, but not so great when it comes to noise. The room itself was great, clean, spacious and modern. But even with the window and drapes closed, be prepared for a lot of street noise. Location is great for walking - I was able to walk just about everywhere I wanted to go!
