Two messages sent via Expedia in advance of stay, no response. Message sent again through online check in, still no response. First room stunk of damp carpet. Moved to second room, which was marginally better, didn't smell. Air vent in bathroom disgustingly dirty. No welcome pack in the room. No fridge in the room. Stale biscuits in the room. Currently undergoing renovations so scaffolding up and banging so a bit noisy. Notification of indoor swimming pool and gym closure after booking, but too late to cancel. No compensation or response to messages about our disappointment about this, despite we know they got our messages as they knew we were no longer bringing our dog. Bar staff seemed very confused about simple orders and housekeeping removed personal item (albeit accidentally, but we only got half back, with no compensation). Hotel was fine for a couple of nights, but wouldn't go back. Staff try and be helpful, but fall short of good customer service.
