I paid for a room upgrade. I originally had king room with Big Ben view. Upon arrival said would get 1 bedroom studio with Big Ben view. I also requested early check with payment, and they confirmed via email. When we arrived at 11:30 they said it would be an hour. After an hour they said 3pm which regular check in time. Lines where very long and slow at 3 and by the time we were at desk they Big Ben room wasn't available. They gave us a 2-bedroom suite but there were just my husband and myself! The room was not what we wanted and there wasn't a view and the carpet in the bedrooms was filthy, so filthy in fact that we wore slippers the whole time.

The check in process was quite slow. We were given a complimentary bottle of wine which was very nice. The room was clean and the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We called down to the concierge and they were quick to answer and help with what was needed. The room was a little tight for a family of 4 traveling from the states. Overall good!

Not terrible, just not worth the money. Breakfast was especially poor, very small cramped area for the buffet, food was poor quality and of the standard that you get in a Premier inn or Ibis. Had a suite for 2 adults and 3 kids, only beds for 4 people made up when we got into the room. 4 cups, 2 bottles of water, just not good enough for £500+ a night. Asked when I checked out if Id enjoyed my stay, I said it was 'ok' expecting the receptionist to enquire why it was just ok, but nothing, no response. In her mind, she had asked the question and had no interest in the response.

The location is amazing! You are close to a lot of tourist locations and the train is a short walk from the hotel. Waiters and concierge was amazing supper friendly and helpful. Room service was incredible and better than other hotel restaurants (loved that it’s 24/7). However, housekeeping is not the best. Sometimes it looked like the room wasn’t cleaned. The check-in staff seemed annoyed when I arrived and did not explain hotel amenities.
