The reception area needs a lot of organization and space. Employees are so busy that no one answers the phone. They have desks more like tables and everything is a mess! Papers everywhere, hard to talk to them without everyone overhearing! Very noisy busy area I was asked to wait for hours in the area no welcome drink or anything until my room was ready. I had reserved transfer from airport with a confirmation but unfortunately no pick up was made! While checking in I was asked to pay the transfer!!! I was so angry and had to prove it didn’t happen, what a welcoming experience to a relaxing vacation! I had reserved half board and when I went to dinner I was stopped at the door to pay, when I protested they let me in no verification!!!! The main restaurant, buffet style, has poor quality and variety of food, not at all what I expected from a 5 star hotel. I am used to staying in hotels in Egypt and restaurants are all dazzling with all sorts of food creations, art and taste! Staff is local very kind and friendly but they don’t know how to talk to hotel guests. As if they were hired without training. I visited that same hotel 20 yrs ago, so different! I booked last minute, almost double the price, a deluxe room. Spacious, clean but again, being used to 5 stars hotel rooms I see missing: bathrobe, slippers and all bathroom kits! Lately I see loofah, shaving kit, toothbrush and toothpaste, shower cap, vanity kit,… where are these? Fridge was empty, 2 water bottles in room.

Subject: Complaint: Bad Accommodation at Jolie Hotel – Itinerary #[Your Itinerary Number] Dear Expedia Traveler Resolutions Team and Jolie Hotel Management, I recently stayed at Jolie Hotel, booked through Expedia Booking Email: [Your Booking Email]). Unfortunately, the accommodation was unacceptable and did not meet basic standards of cleanliness and comfort. The first room was uninhabitable due to a bathroom full of bacteria and mold. Hot water took about 15 minutes to arrive with sufficient pressure. The toilet malfunctioned, requiring multiple flushes and failing to dispose of toilet paper properly. Outdoor lounges and chairs were dirty and outdated. The bed was excessively hard with too few pillows, and the bedding was dusty and stained. Throughout the room, including windows, shower screens, sills, and carpets, there were visible stains and dirt. Essential amenities such as shampoo and shavers were missing. Although I was moved to a second room, it still failed to meet acceptable hygiene and comfort standards. I have attached photos documenting the conditions of both rooms. I request a full refund for the nights affected and appropriate compensation for the inconvenience caused. Please respond promptly to this complaint. Thank you for your attention. Sincerely,

Check in and check out were a disaster. Staff were extremely rude and dismissive to us. Our room was not ready for more than an hour after check in time. We had to wait in line for over 40 minutes just to speak to someone at check in. When we were leaving needed to leave to catch our flight out of Luxor, no one came to drive us back to the lobby from our very remote room. Rooms and service were nowhere near “five star” quality. Frustrating and unpleasant experience. Never again!

Pros : Nice property, big rooms Cons : you need to be shuttled around to your rooms from reception. Far away from restaurants so only option is to eat here unless you want to be taxied out. Restaurants get full. Buffet restaurant will be your main option. Expensive compared to the quality of food. Check-in process very slow. If you have morning tours like people usually do for hot air balloons, you need to get shuttled to reception first.

Sorry, just not a five star hotel in any regard. Huge, noisy, loud and run down in all aspects. Staff is amazing and kind, goes out of their way. But that’s where it ends. Room was worn pillows flat, stinky. Would not stay again. Breakfast massive buffet.

Good amenities, good cleaning staff & room. Total let down is dining area & staff. Not helpful, just unorganised, all over the place every single day of our stay. Reception staff only 1 was good and attentive, though we were only asking for taxi or checkout. All others simple to dining staff, chaotic and not managing things well.
