Condo needs to be updated

The pros: Oceanfront view from the condo is great Oceanfront salt water pool with chairs and umbrellas Gated complex in a good area Easy to navigate short stairs from the property down to the sand. The cons: The condo is in need of an overhaul The kitchen looks to be original from the early 1980’s with Formica counters and fiberboard cabinets, rusted out vent hood, dishwasher holds water, ice maker in frig didn’t work, sparsely stocked dishes, etc. The bathrooms are very dimly lit and the exhaust fans did not work. The chairs on the balcony could not be used, no cushions. The beds were old and uncomfortable, only one bedroom had a ceiling fan. This rental is managed by Ocean Properties, the check in process with them is disorganized, had to make two different stops in order to get everything we needed for our condo stay, keys, parking passes etc. I would not recommend this unit, it needs a complete overhaul and there are other units in the complex that are much nicer.

Furniture Covered in Mold

We left immediately after checking in. There was a strong odor throughout the entire condo and we found significant mold on several pieces of furniture. The overall condition of the unit was very poor with damaged furniture, and water damaged ceilings.

wonderful vacation

We stayed a week here, and had a fantastic time. Everything there that we needed to enjoy our stay. The only thing that i might ad that could be changed, would be the skillets to cook with, as only 1 of them worked really good-the other 2 everything stuck to them, so i think upgrading the skillets would be a great improvement. Thanks for a great trip! Were planning on going back next year in July, but we will go for 2 weeks this time.

Unit and Property Have Issues

The front screen door attachment is broken. There is something wrong with the A/C. The thermostat says it is cooling but there is a lot of humidity in the unit: uncomfortably so. We did not leave doors open, etc. Plus, we were in other units that did not have the same problem. There is very little water pressure in the master bath sink faucet. Shower was fine. The toaster needs to be replaced. It is filthy. The unit in general was not very clean. While I do understand that the property manager is having a hard time finding and keeping cleaning folks and our unit was a back-to-back turnaround, it was obvious that some of the uncleanliness had accumulated over a period of time. The property manager complained incessantly to anyone and everyone about the fact that he makes no money on VRBOs or rentals through brokers like you all. He is very unresponsive and difficult to work with. We hold a family reunion every 2 years and rent 15 or so units. We usually do that through the on-property personnel, but a lot of us rented through VRBO because he was totally non-responsive for 2 years (since the 2019 reunion at SBC). We had the same problem booking for the 2109 reunion. As a result, we most likely will not be coming back to SBC for the 2023 reunion. I think the owners should be aware of his behavior. If I was an owner, I would want to know.

Condo Needs Much Needed Updates

Broken A/C for 3 days!!!!!wrong size sheets on bed, broken screen at sliding glass door, missing vertical blinds slats(behind tv and under couch), very worn out couch, master bath sink with faucets not working properly, This condo needs much work! Not worth the money!

Lovely Complex

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful complex and very friendly folks. No crotchety owners hassling renters about anything…refreshing! The unit itself is acceptable but not great. Furniture, while older was fairly comfortable. The beds…not so much. Uncomfortable! Bring your own sheets and thick mattress pads or egg crates. Also the towels provided were cheap. A Kurig would be nice instead the old espresso machine. Otherwise the kitchen was fairly well equipped. That tiny master toilet? Fine for a petit lady…terrible for men. Also, a full size kitchen trash can is a must. Overall? Thumbs up!

Family vacation

New Smyrna was beautiful. It’s a great beach. The pool was right on the ocean. We had a great time. The condo was nice and had everything we needed but could use al little update. We still had a 5 star time.

Very disappointing! Screens were ripped on three sides and flapping in the breeze. Dishware was dirty. All furniture very dated, used and uncomfortable. This condo unit is in dire need of some TLC.

Very enjoyable!

A603 is a wonderful property. As others have stated, the unit could stand some updating. The slats of the blinds kept falling out and it was difficult to get the main blinds to turn in order to open. There was no recliner as shown in the picture. A full size trashcan in the kitchen instead of a small bathroom size, would have been very helpful. Lighting in the master bedroom and bathroom was dark. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and serving items.

Condo Review

Over all fine. The Blinds over looking the ocean need to be replaced. They are difficult to open or close and six or seven of the blinds slats were missing. Also, the instructions said to close all of the blinds, but the blinds in the little room would not close. I must have misunderstood something. I thought the unit had a washer and dryer. You need to up date the instructions., When we went to take out the trash I spoke with the manager. He said the trash shut has been closed of for about 10-12 years. We enjoyed our stay and everyone at the condos were very pleasant. We will definitely go again.

Million Dollar view!

This condo is in the perfect spot on a relatively quiet area of New Smyrna Beach. Everything a person could possibly need for a stay by the seaside is provided, in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms including beach chairs and towels. All in all a very comfortable space with that million dollar view of the majestic ocean and white sandy beach. Pool facilities are inviting, clean and a great place to relax or wind down after a day on the beach. The Kitchen could use some updating, most of the vertical blinds are broken and/or missing from the sliding doors to the patio area so one is unable to block the lights at night as is requested for turtle nesting season. Not a deal breaker for us though. Mostly our stay was very comfortable and I would recommend this condo for a restful and safe vacation to anyone who wants ocean view, sunrises that will rival any in the world, walks on white sandy beaches, swimming in cool Atlantic waters, family friendly atmosphere and a short drive to Flagler beach and numerous restaurants and grocery stores.

Great family vacation

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our family vacation. The private beach made it excellent for social distancing. The condominium was very comfortable and made us feel right at home. We will definitely be back.

Beach view!

Excellent value for beach view. Spacious and a very well run property. Would like to see an updated kitchen, but still clean and very functional. The beach in front of the property was nice with great sandy beach.

Summer Vacation 2019

The condo was as described. Clean, plenty of sleeping space. Beautiful beach view! The only recommendations would be is to have beach chairs and body boards in the condo, and a gas grill somewhere would be great. Would defiantly stay again.
