I was looking forward to my stay based on the positive reviews from previous guests. Unfortunately, my experience was quite the opposite. When it came to communication, I did not hear from the host until two days before my stay. Although I initially booked for nine guests, for some reason, the reservation ended up being for two guests. I ended up paying for ten guests, hoping to receive a refund for the difference, as we only had eight guests staying per night. Not only did I not receive a refund, but the room also only accommodated seven people, not twelve as stated on the website.During our stay, we experienced two alarms going off in the middle of the night, back-to-back, without knowing the cause. The same issue occurred in the morning as well. When I reported the alarm incidents to the host, instead of addressing the cause, I was questioned as if it was my fault. The towels were stained, and all the linens needed to be replaced. Despite checking in late, we did not see the host at all during our stay. Although the maid who came in couldn’t understand what we were trying to tell her, she quickly got someone on the phone.I came to the city for a memorial and expected a calm, warm environment for my family to grieve, not to be bombarded with extra charges and an unsanitary environment. I wish the host had made an effort to be present, listen to the guests, and be more accommodating instead of charging for even the extra hour that was initially offered with no parking.
