I used Chuzenji Kanaya hotel as a hikers stop. The walk up from the town was pretty and the hotel was very smart, clean and friendly. The WiFi was poor but the full sized bath, comfortable bed and room facilities were all super.

Stay here for a wonderful experience in every way

This historic hotel, founded it in 1870, is beautifully located and provides an exceptional experience in every way. The staff got a backpack left on the bus back to us within an hour. The onsen is a dream. I would love to be able to return someday.

A great place to stay in. It is not the type of modern hotel that we usually stayed in. But the feel is different. There’s warmth and a lot of history in the hotel. The staff are also really helpful. The onsen is also a really good experience for us first-timers. The location is also good as its in between the heritage sites and ski resort. I highly recommend this place.

ご飯はずおもおいしかったです。郚屋も叀い建物を綺麗に管理しお頂いおいるず思うのですが、倧济堎の扉の暗蚌番号が個人的には開けづらくお苊劎したした。倧济堎はサりナを蚭眮頂いおおりたすが、出来れば氎颚呂ず䌑逊スペヌスを蚭けお頂ければもっず良かったです。 埌は倧きめの荷物は郚屋たで持ち運びいただければ有りがかったかもしれたせん。 最埌に倖の街灯なのですが、時間に合わせお点灯しおいるず思うのですが、蚪問した時は街灯が぀いおない時間で既に暗く、入口の看板が芋えなかったので、出来れば日の入り時間に合わせお調敎いただけたら嬉しいです。
