Top Floor, Corner Unit Gulf Front Condo in MXB - Views All Around Surfside 16

Located on the West End of Mexico Beach, Surfside is a gulf front condo complex with fantastic views and easy beach access. The building is the only condo complex located on a beachside street and not directly on Highway 98 making noise and traffic less of a concern. Surfside 16 is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath unit located on the top floor of the building. This particular unit is in the prize location being a corner unit allowing decks and views on two sides, one directly overlooking gulf front and the other on the southwestern side of the building. The views from the large furnished balcony are amazing and stretch down Mexico Beach as far as the eye can see. The unit is a single level and is accessed by either elevator or exterior stairs. The beach access is located just below the complex so access to beach and property are super easy.

Inside this spacious condo, a group of six have plenty of room to spread out with a queen & a double bed in either of the guest rooms and a king in the master. The master also comes complete with its on gulf front deck entrance and a master bath large enough to escape reality. Views from every room inside are also quite unbelievable. The living area is laid out in an open format allowing conversations to take place between the kitchen, living room and dining area. The gulf front living room has floor to ceiling windows all along two sides of the room and includes a large TV to watch. It’s questionable if you’ll be able to take your eyes off the beach views to enjoy though.

Being on the West End of the beach, access to the few shops, restaurants, marina and boat ramp are literally at your fingertips. Enjoy a walk in the evenings either on the beach or along the sidewalk that stretches through most of Mexico Beach.

Beautiful views

Loved the condo and the beautiful views. Check-in and check-out process was a breeze. Property manager was super friendly and helpful when check in code didn’t work the first day. Later in the week I called to leave a message to request a few more towels and didn’t get a return call or the towels. Not a huge deal, we just did more laundry than anticipated. The only thing about the actual condo itself is there was no access to the pantry so all of our food had to be stored on the counter top and table. Other than that, we loved the property, the location, the wrap around balcony and again- those beautiful views. Will be keeping this location in mind as a possibility for future stays. Thank you!

Helpful

When we checked out, I reported that there was no hot water in the kitchen. Due to time constraints, I did not give a helpful suggestion. It would greatly help if there were instructions for the TV. ie: which remote to use, what channels are available, etc. All in all, it was a delightful four nights and perhaps we could have stayed longer if the rates were not so high!

Startled to find a MAN in our place :(

Our overall experience was wonderful and I’ll share more after I get the bad part out of the way. We’d been checked in for 1.5 days- enjoying all the good things about Mexico Beach. My daughter and I were startled to find a man just leaving our condo— he mentioned he was there to fix some things and asked what else needed done. Once he left I texted the property manager (because they DO NOT answer their phone), this was her exact response to my concern: “ I apologize that you were startled by Brandon our maintenance guy but he was just doing his job. We don't normally notify our guests when there is a work order in place. Yes, I can assure you no one else from our office will come during your stay without your permission.” What she’s communicating is that it is normal and appropriate for them to allow contractors in the condo while you’re there without giving you any notice or a heads up. To us, it felt intrusive and disconcerting. Also, the property managers don’t communicate through VRBO- so no one answered any of the questions we asked through vrbo’s messaging site. They don’t answer the phone or return messages. But they did respond to my text. Last few negatives- our 11 year old found weed under the bed and the construction noise pounding pilings in the ground started at 6am. Anyone staying in Mexico Beach right now needs to understand there will be a lot of construction going on- to us, we are just thankful to know it’s getting rebuilt after the hurricane. That’s the bad part. The good parts were wonderful! The condo was clean, the view was EVERYTHING!!! The kitchen was well stocked with cooking tools etc., the tvs worked great. We truly love MB. We can tell the homeowners care love it and we thank them for opening it up to our family. We would love to stay there again because of the view and it felt clean- but walking in on a contractor without notice and being told it’s not standard practice to alert a renter in advance felt quite disconcerting so we’ll know next time to insist they let us know. It would also be nice if the property manager would use the vrbo site to communicate so we don’t have to navigate two websites.
