Enjoy the comfort of hotel-sized beds and ultrasoft sheets and the flexibility of a private home where you can get a coffee or snack at any time and wash your clothes. This amazingly located apartment in the heart of the city has all the comfort you need. You can take a stroll along the river, just 3 minutes away, or hit the historical streets with amazing bars & restaurants. From our side, we provide well-equipped facilities, local tips, and thoughtful personal service for your stay in Porto.

We travel a lot and have a lot of personal experience staying in hotels and airbnbs. We value maximum comfort, which lies in attention to small details. This apartment is our occasional holiday home, and we treat our guests the same way we would like to be treated during other holiday stays.

The best part about this space is that you have hotel-quality sleep on huge beds that have the most comfortable spring mattresses and Egyptian cotton sheets made in Portugal. The space also has a couch-bed that has the comfort of a double bed.

We also provide you with 100% cotton towels, toiletries, a blow dryer, cooking basics, and kitchenware appropriate for all kinds of cooking. So don't worry about anything. Just bring your personal belongings for the stay, the rest is our hassle.

We provide some international book exchange on our shelves, so feel free to take the book you liked and leave us the one you've already finished reading. We would like to keep this lovely tradition going.

If you need to leave your luggage after check-in, please let us know and we can leave it for you in a locked room downstairs.

The apartment is situated in a lovely neighbourhood with local family restaurants and bars. It is close to the main avenue called Rua de Mouzinho da Silva and the river walk with music and lovely cafes. If you have difficulties finding the apartment, find the restaurant called Casa Porto a noite cafe. Our place is next one on the right with RED doors. The access is as to any other apartment. Please note that the apartment is on the 4th floor and there is no elevator.

The best thing about this property was the location within the city. It is indeed very close to the historic centre, so for being outside and touring the city it is excellent. The owners are also very helpful and respond quickly, which is a highlight. Unfortunately, the listing is not very clear about many things regarding the amenities of the property. For one, it is at the top of 4 flights of stairs, while the laundry machines are at the bottom of the building. As well, the second floor bedroom is at the top of a very steep staircase, not shown in pictures. A mid-night washroom trip would not be easy. Finally, the word ‘apartment’ seems to be a more apt description than ‘duplex,’ at least to me. With regards to the state of the property, it was not particularly clean when we arrived, and all the sheets and towels were damp. Luckily they had extras which we used instead.Additionally, the hot water is very inconsistent. Sometimes it will jump from burning hot to cold without you even moving the faucets. Next, the property is also much smaller than it seems in the pictures. As well, there was constant daytime construction in the building right beside us throughout the whole of the stay. It didn’t seem close to being finished when we left. This is not something in the control of the property’s owners, but nonetheless it should be mentioned.

Location was fantastic, everything was clean. The apartment is on the 4th floor so there are quite a few stairs to go up. We only had 1 small carryon with us so it wasn’t an issue but it would be difficult for a family with children and large luggage. We would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic location, the property had everything we needed, and was clean and tidy. The staircase in the building as others have mentioned does have a distinct ‘lived in’ smell, but I would absolutely not let this put you off booking this property, as it is literally only the main staircase that is affected.

The property was clean, well-equipped, and in a good location. We wished the laundry situation had been explained in advance, as it required walking down 4 flights of stairs to a shared building laundry space, because of that, we chose not to use it. Overall, though, the space itself was comfortable.

Our stay was lovely! This quaint space was perfect for our girls’ trip, located within walking distance of all the highlights of Porto! The apartment is a fourth floor walk-up, so be advised that carrying up suitcases may be a challenge if not fit/able-bodied.

Pros-1. Location is fabulous2. owner responded quickly to our questions. Cons-1. it was hard to get a good night sleep because of early morning street noise, rough sheets/ lumpy pillows w hairs on the pillow, Loud squeaky, sticky doors if anyone else in the condo got up to use the restroom2. Difficult layout for more than 2 people. The upstairs loft is very challenging to access. It’s up a tight staircase that is dangerous especially in the middle of the night. For that reason we had to put our younger son in the family room. 3. advertised as having washer and dryer, but it fails to clarify that both are down 4 flights of stairs 4. Host indicated parking was easy and available. This was not the case. The Porto traffic in this area is extremely intense and it took us 30mins to locate a spot for our small rental car. 5. advertised as having everything you need but there were no paper towels or paper, napkins, or anything to be able to clean up or eat with. Not even Kleenex. We ended up leaving aftet 1 night to stay in a hotel for the rest of our time in Porto.

This apparemment was awesome. Its a 4 story walk up but worth it. Clean and well maintained. Instructions are clear and kitchen is user friendly. Located in the heart of porto walking areas.

As others mentioned, this duplex is located in a great part of the city and there are good restaurants nearby. The place is comfortable and was good for two friends staying together. The negatives: the bathroom was small, the stairs to the loft with the second bed were extremely steep, and navigating large suitcases up the four flights can be challenging. Additionally, we did not get entry information ahead of our arrival date.

We Did Not Stay

We did not stay. Stairs were wicked for carrying luggage. 4 story walk up. Very steep treads and very dark. One of the other units had a smoker and this unit smelled of residual smoke. Dog barking constantly in the unit next door. Laundry in the basement was not mentioned anywhere. Nothing like we expected. Turned around and walked out. Found another place to stay.

Poorly lite staircase concrete damp walls. Climbed 54 steps with our luggage. Extremely loud and noise. Second bedroom up in a loft that only a miniature person could climb. Would not recommend.

Cute and Cozy Cave in great location

We had a wonderful time in this charming apartment. Located right in middle of city, walking to everything. It is a tight squeeze. We had family of four- two adult children. The four flight walk up is not for the out of shape- nor is the cave alcove up the stairs. But if you can brave stairs and not a lot of extra room, this place is incredible. So many thoughtful touches. Great welcome guide is 4-5 languages for local recs. Basic kitchen supplies and a coffee supply as well as directions on how to use everything. We loved staying here!

Conveniently Located Apartment

The apartment was clean, compact, and conveniently located. Communication and check in went smoothly. The apartment is on the top floor so there are lots of stairs to navigate and a somewhat dark entrance. The second bedroom is up a narrow, steep staircase that would be difficult to navigate for people with any mobility challenges. Getting luggage up to the room was a two person endeavour.

Location, Location, Location

This property is a Home Run! My friend and I did a 1 1/2 weeks long trip to Portugal with Porto #1 on our list. It's hard when you dont know the area to book a place that keeps you in the center and walking distance to everything. This cute little 4th floor walk up gives you all of it. 1. Its a really cute little place, Well appointed and cozy.2. Central to walking around lower portion of Porto and the bridge to Gaia.3. Easy and close access to shopping and restaurants4. Safe area, secure access, and the check in was easy!It is a 4th floor walk up so expect stairs - lots of them, but it gets you ready for walking the streets of Porto!The upstairs loft access is tight with little stairs. I would not recommend putting kiddos up there or larger adults. I highly recommend this property.
