Its an older hotel. The elevators need some TLC. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If you want your room cleaned you need to submit a request. I removed my dirty linen from the room and placed outside the door only to cone back to my room with no bedding. They front desk clerk moved me to another room down the hall which was great.

- Friendly staff. - Very dirty and not cleaned bathtub upon check in, had to pack up again after realizing at 10:30 at night and changing the room due to no available housekeeping - Very confusing and wrongly signed cold/ hot faucet in the bathtub - Poor service at breakfast time, only 2 breakfast coupons for 3 people - Too far from San Francisco and the tourists attractions - Located outside the Way Mo service and had to walk about 10 minutes from Way Mo dropping off location to the hotel

The Hotel is in dire need of renovations, only one elevator was working and it sounded like it was falling apart. Pillows are very thick and umcomfortable, my neck was hurting in the morning

Close to SFO, great value

I grew up in San Mateo decades ago, and have seen this property since I was a kid. This was my first time staying. We were in town for a weekend memorial service, with other family also staying at the Crowne. A 10 story hotel, so the there plenty of rooms on a summer weekend, which was great. Our room was small-ish, but fine for our needs. The bathroom was spotless, water pressure great, and all amenities provided. One thing we'd never seen was that the toilet was at an angle, which made it easier to utilize. We liked that. Checking in was a bit odd, as the entrance is awkward. It's also the shuttle stop, and there's not very much room to pull up, park and go inside. We arrived around 9:30 p.m., so it wasn't crowded for us, but witnessed confusion and cars not sure where to park. The hotel should provide better guidance on their website. Also, we knew there was a daily parking fee, but I couldn't find out the price anywhere in the hotel information. Had to call the desk before we got there to find out. You need to get a print out each time you enter the lot, which was also confusing, until you know the routine. That wasn't properly explained at check in. They just said that we were to use our room key to get OUT of the lot. Generally, we were very happy with our room and had a pleasant stay. It was very quiet, despite being busy. One other thing - The back parking lot should be repaved. It's bumpy, and cracked, and in need of attention.
