Clean hotel in a lively neighborhood.

Hotel was nice and clean with a friendly staff. The bed was very comfortable. I liked the location as it felt like it was the "heart" of San Francisco, with Chinatown being about a 20 minute walk. However some folks might not like how close it is to the tenderloin district. Seeing quite a few unhoused folks on the streets is pretty sad, but it was also good to talk to the locals about the real issues of the city. It's important to remember these are human beings and not simply some hurdle to jump over while you're walking around as a tourist or on your business trip. The food around the area is incredible. I had a croissant and cappuccino from a different bakery every morning and tried a different type of asian restaurant almost every night. All of it was top-notch. The hotel has a common area that was pretty social and lively the entire time I was there. It was nice to talk to folks while grabbing some tea or coffee. Walls may be a bit thin, but luckily no one was next to me that I could tell.

Great value in the heart of SF

Very quiet during the week, got very loud on Friday night. No insulation so it sounds like your neighbors are talking and flushing their toilet in your room. The only coffee option is a machine in the lobby. It is good, if very small coffees. Would love an option to make coffee in my own room. No desk or chair in the room- my room had plenty of dead space, a desk or table and chair would have been lovely. No a/c but ceiling fan and windows open. Check-in is clunky and they ask for a large deposit. The rooms are nice, clean, huge closet. Convenient location.

This hotel is comfortable for the price and is clean. The bathrooms are updated and it is walking distance to the regency ballroom. The area isn’t sketchy specially when there’s an event happening, we walked to and from there with no problem. I would definitely recommend staying here! And the staff is friendly which is a plus :)

I should have gotten his name but the older gentleman that works the front desk during the day was so nice and helpful! Went out of his way to answer all our questions as was an excellent resource as far as telling us where to catch the cable car and restaurants. Etc. LOVED the 24/7 coffee machine, what a nice touch for guests.
