Freindly and helpful staff. Overall, the hotel is clean with small signs of wear due to it's age. Was definitely a good stay, just be aware of your surroundings in the area. Hotel itself seemed safe.

The staff at the front desk were all highly professional, willing to accommodate my reasonable needs (eg extending checkout time till 1pm, reserving the taxi for my trip to the airport, holding my luggage until the night, and purchasing my hop-in hop-out bus tour access with a 10% discount they brought to my attention. It is a secure bulging as only people with a key can enter or use the elevator. There is a nice Italian restaurant adjacent to the hotel (lunch and dinner) and reasonably priced. A few doors away there is a breakfast place too. The room I was assigned to didn’t have an attractive view, but that meant it was not facing the road and was very quiet. I appreciated this feature. The walls are thin, so I could hear my neighbors talking. They, however, were reasonable people and not noisy late at night, and holding friendly conversations among themselves. So the ambiance was nice. Although the bathroom door had scratches and some pieces of furniture looked a little worn out, the room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the availability of a desk area was nice. The closet is of good size, perfect for dresses. There were many drawers around the room for clothing. The room had the necessary items to iron and to dry one’s hair. I appreciated the fact that the lights went off automatically, and were motion sensitive. I had a nice stay.

The room was fine, but the hallway had an unpleasant smell and the gym/cardio room was in disrepair. The treadmill was missing pieces, including the magnet that allows it to function. It had been replaced with something else that took a lot ofmessing with to get it to connect.

We had a good stay at the Pickwick. It is an older building with things not being up to date as much as you might hope. The air conditioning is not great but the windows did open so we could cool off in the evening that way. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. Angele and Brian were our front desk employees and they made the stay fantastic. I would definitely stay with them again if I knew they were our crew! Can’t say enough good about them! Brian kept a good eye on us making sure we arrived back safely after the baseball game. We definitely felt like we had a bit of family looking out for us! All in all we enjoyed the Pickwick and would stay with them again. Easy access to the BART, busses and cable car.

The hotel was cute, clean, and safe. This is the second time I have stayed here and the staff is very helpful and friendly. You can take BART straight from the airport, and the hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the train stop. It can be a bit loud, by nature of being in the city, so come prepared for that. However, the beds are SO comfortable that the noise almost doesn't matter. An excellent stay that I would recommend to anyone.

Gem in SOMA around the corner from the Convention center, workout room, and business center. It maybe an old hotel but clean, quiet, nice not fancy but does the job well worth it being in San Francisco for just business or a place to crash. Very friendly staff

Very clean, reasonable amenities, and excellent location for the price. Close proximity to the convention center, particularly. You are very near union square/tenderloin area so need to be a little cautious when walking at night, etc. Overall, I had a great experience and was worth the price while in town for a 4-day conference. I would stay again.

Sketchy neighborhood

Hotel is old and the king-sized bed crunched when we sat down on it. We both woke up with sore backs. Bathroom had the smallest sink we’ve ever seen and was not clean. (Toothpaste smeared on the wall.) K-cup coffee maker was nice but there was no coffeemate creamer, sugar or stirrers. Location is really scary with hunched over Fentanyl addicts a block away and feces and blood on the sidewalk. We chose the location because it was close to the Warfield Theater. It was a short and scary walk back to the hotel after the evening show we attended. PLUS SIDE: Both onsite restaurants had wonderful food and excellent service!
