This review is based on all the things I wished I would have read when planning our trip and renting this property. We stayed as a family of 7 the end of may. We have 5 kids 12,10,8,5,2.
This property was exactly what we were looking for location wise. Quiet, away from everything, yet close to the beach. It’s about 1/2-3/4 of a mile to the beach. SUPER easy walk through the path or in the road. We love the plantation community. The bike paths are amazing and well kept. The pool was BIG, clean and well maintained.
The house it nice. The kitchen was well stocked. The furniture was a little run down. The decor is NOT KID FRIENDLY!!! They glass and ceramic things sitting everywhere. Just at eye level. The tops of the side tables and coffee tables are all glass. And the entire main level it decorated in topless mermaids. There were games, puzzles, and a high chair to be found in the closet so they know kids will be staying....it’s just not easy for parents to stay as hyper vigilance in necessary.
The bedrooms are nice size. Beds and pillows are decently comfortable but not luxury in any way. More like super 8 motel luxury. Make sure to plan for doing laundry as there is only one towel and wash cloth person. In the kitchen there was 2 towels and 2 washcloths which we didn’t find to be enough. In the listing there was not pictures of the showers. Know that if you are a bigger person you will need to shower in the one bathroom upstairs that has a tub shower combo, as the other two showers were only about 36”x36”. So really small. We never did find WiFi and none of the TVs were connected to WiFi but there was cable and the main tv had a DVD player.
Outside the house the decking boards are old and splintering...WEAR shoes!!! The beach gear that was left at the house was rusted and mostly unusable.
The property management was attentive to our needs and helped quickly when an unusual problem arrived. We also used the beach gear credit and that was SO nice and a flawless system. Our gear was there when we arrived and picked up the day we left. I would highly recommend renting gear.
Something to note about the area is that there are only small grocery stores within a 50 mile radius..while they had basics produce was hit or miss and mostly a miss HIGHLY recommend bring that in with you before you get settled.
Overall would we stay again?Absolutely... we would just better know what we were getting into and pack accordingly.
