The room was a good size and we were lucky to be facing the loch. Looked to be have been updated recently. All the staff were excellent, especially in the restaurant. I would suggest you have a look at the water pressure for the showers though. I'd look to stay again if I was heading to Stranraer

Only stayed for one night, unfortunately arrived too late to make use of any of the facilities , but the room was lovely and warm and we had a well needed sleep before continuing our journeys the following day. Unfortunately too early to experience the breakfasts

Travelling down to get the early ferry with our dog. Great value for money, dog friendly and easy to get to ferry for Belfast. Decor, etc is bit old fashioned but wasn’t an issue. Great option for the early ferry. .

The room was clean, well appointed, spacious, comfortably warm and quiet. I was very happy with it. My evening dinner included vegetable soup and steak pie, both of which were tasty and nicely hot when served. Morning breakfast options were plentiful and hot food was tasty, well prepared and served promptly. Reception and dining room staff were considerate, polite and keen to assist as necessary. This hotel may be a little aged but but it is well appointed and has plenty of character and atmosphere that others of its generation and newer lack. In short, it ticked all my boxes.

Cleanest hotel I have stopped in. Excellent Breakfast and evening food. Found out that they have a Curling Sports Centre where the sport of Curling is done. Currently this team are the world champions. if you are looking for a Hotel in Stranraer, definitely go to the North West Castle Hotel
