Room was clean and well appointed. Staff was excellent and attentive. There is no lift in the building so be prepared to take your luggage up and down stairs. The skylight in the room was a great addition for natural lighting. We were on the third floor and could not hear any noise from the pub on the ground floor. Overall an enjoyable experience and the bed was comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Great location and staff lovely. Room a good size. Great hot water shower. Pub food and beer is good. Naturally we expected noise from the pub but the local environment was very noisy for quite a lot of the night with glass bins being emptied at 1am-4am and lots of car noise too. Not the fault of the staff but worth knowing if you are light sleeper. Also we were on the top floor up several flights of stairs which could put some people off.

Great place to stay before a cruise. It's a bit of a schlep from Barangaroo - would recommend walking from Circular Quay instead. Cosy, clean and comfortable with easy check in and safe for kids.

This was a perfect venue for us. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in great location in one of the older parts of Sydney. Pub brewed beer also very good and the room was lovely, not like a modern chain, but a nice nod to the style of the time it was built with all amenities including a very efficient AC system.

It was great to stay at the oldest pub and the beer and cider was good. Only negative was there was no access for those with mobility issues for the accommodation part of the hotel. I would stay here again though ask for a room not on the top floor.

The only reason this isn’t a 1-star is because the pub and location are great, and most of the staff are helpful and friendly. The room we were assigned was shabby and dated, not cleaned well throughout our stay, was very noisy—hand dryer from the public loo downstairs, flushes from the room upstairs, daily 3:00 AM rubbish collection, anytime some passed our room in the hall, and then the usual hotel/pub stay of noisy visitors but that’s kind of expected. What wasn’t expected were the cockroaches we saw in our bathroom a few times. When we brought this up to one of the staff and pointed out we were in a queen bed rather than the Premium King room we had booked, we were told that the bed was a king (it wasn’t, we measured) and that they would have the cleaners work on the “roommate” situation. They were unable to move us to a different room, and the accomadtion team just seemed

Staff so friendly. For beer lovers great fun to be had tasting the local brew. Take note, no lift so only bookif you can carry your luggage and self up stairs! Room had character and gave great view. Excellent stay.

This is a beautiful old building and the room is absolutely beautiful. The shutters don’t block out all the light and the windows are as old as the building so the street noise comes through BUT the neighborhood is quiet. The bar and restaurant are very good and highly convenient.

We really enjoyed our short stay in this historic hotel. The room was very comfortable. We knew there was not an elevator and requested a low er floor which the hotel honored. We were on the second floor, third floor by American standards. An employee took our bags upstairs for us but we had an early morning flight and had to leave the hotel by 4:15 AM which meant we had to navigate Our luggage down the stairs. You just need to be aware of this. We had dinner in the pub and it was good. The pub is a very popular place and is very busy so make a reservation if you plan to eat there.
