Disgusting Room, Arrogant Management – Never Again This was my first — and last — stay at this hotel. I arrived to find my room hadn’t been made up. This was inconvenient, but I called after hours and was moved. The new room was even worse. The toilet was filthy, unflushed, and disgusting. I took photos and immediately sent them to management. It was too late to leave, so I stayed the night. First thing the next morning, I met with management in person, expecting a sincere apology and proper compensation. Instead, I was met with arrogance and excuses. Their response? “That’s strange.” No ownership. No genuine concern. Just an insulting offer of a token “goodwill” gesture- a discount on future stays — as if I’d ever return. I asked for more than a token off to stay an extra three nights. They refused. This wasn’t a small mistake but a health and hygiene failure. And even with photographic proof, they shrugged it off. Shakira Management doesn’t care about customer experience, cleanliness, or accountability. They’d rather lose business than admit fault or offer a meaningful resolution. Avoid this place entirely if you value basic hygiene, respect, or decent service. It’s not just substandard, it’s disgraceful.

This is wonderful boutique accommodation close to the Chatswood Metro. It has been tastefully renovated. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would certainly stay again.

I just thought the property was old for the price paid. There was no door on the room connecting to the outside room just a curtain. There was an old heater that continuously turned on and off to maintain a temperature. The heater was also up on the counter top which was dangerous. No air-conditioning which would be cheaper and safer. When having a shower the bath filled up with water due to the drain being clogged.

The property is in a quiet location - the vegetation around the property provides privacy, shade and a good view. There is adequate parking close to the property and the location is close to rail, dining and shopping facilities.

This place is a walk back in time so quant and quirky very clean tasteful decor nice and clean and peaceful and we had our own balcony which is a big plus for us definitely recommend for the price this place packs a punch worth every cent

The room did not have air conditioning. The hosts could not even provide ice or cold water on a 40 degree day. Toiletries were scarce, no body wash, just 1 shampoo and one conditioner supplied for 2 people.

Loved the old world charm, the sheets etc were immaculate but some facilities need an upgrade -noisy exhaust fan, mirrors aged and tarnished. Mould in bathroom paint. Overall was happy with the stay
