The room is tiny with a half size bar fridge sitting on pieces of timber, the bench above it has a jug, coffee/tea and cups. The bathroom has been renovated but water goes everywhere as it just has the half glass shower screen. The bedding is very comfortable. The whole complex is very run down, has the feel of dorms at a school camp. The girl at reception when we arrived wasn't interested in 'greeting' anyone. We arrived late afternoon and left early for Milford Sound so the hotel was suitable for a quick stopover but wouldn't book again.

The Fiordland Hotel was good value for its money. The hotel itself looks a little rundown but they're in the process of updating. The carpets in the public areas are worn however the bathrooms were obviously recently renovated. There was a large games area which would have suited a family/group vacation well.

the place was very tired and run down, it was a shame to see areas for eg the putt putt on the balcony has been wasted and let it would have been a lovely place if it was kept in good condition. the staff at front desk was nice. rooms are very old.

The hotel is very old and dirty, the curtains are stained, one of the two towels is stained. But the worst thing is that we were bitten by bedbugs 😵‍💫

It looks like a converted dorm, money was spent on the bathroom sink and shower, but the tiles weren’t sloped towards the drain, which meant water in the main part of the bathroom too. We tried every input to get tv channels, but none were found and no instructions on how to watch tv, if they do have channels. The laundry facilities were great, though make sure you clean the lint trap, to prevent starting a fire.

Decent, inexpensive motel in te anua

This place was pretty good for the low price. About a 7 min walk from the central restaurant area of Te Anua. Definitely an older building, nothing fancy, but clean & reasonable for a low price.

The property looks tired , but that was ok. The shower is elevated to step in and dangerous , the shower water goes from scolding hot for. Few seconds then to freezing cold for a few seconds, then warm and starts all over again. I could have gotten over that but the mouse that shared the bathroom the next morning was a deal breaker for us. We left for a Milford Sound Cruise early in the AM so when we returned we packed up and went to check out a day early . Told the front desk the issue with the mouse , she asked what she could do to make it right so we asked for a refund for the night we weee not going to stay and she told us we should have noticed them sooner and offered us nothing . Even a bit of a credit would have been a good faith effort. So this is a horrible place to stay

Generally you get what you pay for. This place was cheap and so were the rooms. The sink was tiny, the shower didn’t drain, and there was a musty smell in some rooms. For one night though it was tolerable and even quaint in a quirky way.

This is an old quaint place which was fine for us. Just staying a couple of nights to cruise Milford Sound. Checking is was easy. Rooms had plenty of space. Then things went south. Toilet wouldn’t flush very well. Shower was scalding hot one second and freezing the next. All could be overlooked. First night fine. Next morning mice in the bathroom and running down the hall. Checked out as soon as we got back from cruise. Front desk asked if we wanted a refund and we said yes. Then she stated sorry you’re to late checking out. Lesson learned. Steer clear.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Assisted me with canceling my reservations. The resort did appear as shown on Expedia. Very run down and not well maintained. We did not stay there.

We were disappointed in the small room for two people. There was no toaster (had to go use one in lounge down a hallway). No hot water available by late evening. No outside gardens.
