The male toilet in the lobby needs more air freshener.
We were well received by the female staff member during our check in. She provided us with hotel information (e.g. daily breakfast, Onsen, laundry, etc.) clearly. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful with welcoming smiles. We also appreciated the daily room cleaning service. The quality of the daily breakfast was excellent!
We were very impressed with the effectiveness and efficiency of baggage forwarding service provided by the hotel as we needed to send one baggage to a hotel in Tokyo on the day before our checking out from Manten Hotel in Toyama.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
As expected, this is an aging property but with warm welcoming staff, great location and potentially good views of the city and the Tateyama mountain range (I was given a relatively high floor with open views). The basic room size was extremely small but sufficient for a simple stay with one large luggage for a single person. Room rates were very reasonable at around US$40 a night. Parking was full on my second night and had to park 10 minutes walk away (free tram ticket given to collect car next morning). If budget is a concern, I would certainly suck it up and stay again.
Overall, the stay was just okay. The property is noticeably run down and in need of updates. Breakfast was decent, but exactly the same both mornings—some variety would have made a big difference.
I was particularly disappointed with the women’s public bath. While the men’s facilities were spacious and well-equipped, the women’s area was almost non-existent with no proper amenities. It felt like an afterthought.
Expedia listed us as a “full spa” but failed to clarify that it only applied to men.
Stayed only a single night here after doing the Alpine route as it's very convenient and close to the station. It's a decent place, not too fancy. Room was an ok size, bit squishy for afamily of 4.Bonus was the public baths which is always nice in Japan.
We booked this hotel mainly for the nice public bath and the room size. We knew the hotel was a bit far from the JR station but did not expect the surrounding areas to be bare of food and retail options. If you do not mind walking 15min to the JR station or taking the trams to the station, this hotel is still acceptable
The staff were very welcoming and hospitality was great. They helped in every way I asked.
The public bath was over crowded at times so they could schedule times to the guests when they arrive during high usage season.
Very reasonable pricing, quite comfortable for a short stay. This is a “business” hotel and as long as you know that beforehand it’s fine. The mens bathing area is very nice! That said, I heard the women's area was not so nice. It would have been nice if extra mini towels for the spa area were made available. Pass on the breakfast though, really poor quality and not worth 1000 yen. You’re better off just buying something from a convenience store for breakfast.
