Beautiful superior room overlooking gardens. Interesting grounds. Were able to enjoy drinks in the evening, and breakfast next morning, at outdoor tables in the pretty grounds. Good service.

Beautiful building and very traditional. However could do with a freshen up. Cleanliness was fine A few cob webs under bathroom sink and ceiling needing painted. No shower cubicle only attachment in bath and water not hot. Room freezing cold and only an electric heater to warm the room. Sufficient though but not what is expected for 4 stars. All meals could not be faulted. Hot and very tasty. Staff very pleasant. Overall I did enjoy my stay and would definitely stay again. Criticism is very minor but needs to be made. Spa is nice just to sit in for a coffee. Other customers are friendly and enjoy having a chat. Treatments fully booked for my time.

Good and bad qualities

We arrived here on Saturday night for our wedding night. A relative had rung a couple of days earlier that we had were coming for our honeymoon and although we didn't have expect anything, there appeared very little effort made about iit. The receptionist appeared flustered when we arrived at 11.50pm. The room was not well equipped and there were elements that were unclean such as the notice sheets were sticky etc. when we went to the spa, there was no one at reception and when we waited, the person who appeared to be a member of staff walked past us and blanked us. We therefore didn't receive any towels to dry ourselves so had to use the hair dryers instead. When my husband left to check out they said that there was an outstanding balance of £200 which he paid without thinking even though I had already paid the full amount. They had to then refund it. The staff claimed that the hotel had just been taken over and the start of the week however they should have been better equipped particularly for peak season particularly peak wedding season! Xxx

Absolutely Fabulous

I stayed here for one night in June. My friend and I had a four poster room each. They were both beautifully appointed. The building itself is exquisite, oozing with history, and you feel privileged to be able to stay there. We had afternoon tea in the sitting room on arrival, which was superb and very good value for money. I can highly recommend a stay at Seckford Hall.
