Good hotel , will stay again

1 night stay, to visit the harry potter studio, Really nice stay, Stayed in the main house, Bed , very comfy 10 out of 10 which is v important to us!! Great shower with good power, again important thing in my book Breakfast also very good, im being picky here but warming of the breakfast plates needs to happen as nothing worse than a cold brekky plate..but im picking as it was all tasty, and nice friendly staff, Yes the pool is just a pool with no sauna or steam room which is a shame but its not a spa hotel so im fine with that, So a good stay and will happly stay again when we come back to harry potter studio as its amazing if its your thing!! Lovely gardens aswell at the hotel aswell!!

Food was mediocre. I had to request a refund on some food I ordered for room service. Was overpriced and very poor quality. Would expect a higher standard. Shop bought onion rings that were cold and soggy, steak overcooked and dry. Pool was very dated and definitely needs some tlc. Some of the staff were rude and looked at my daughter and I like were weren’t the kind of guests they’d like to have stay there. The pool was closed pretty much all day, that wasn’t advertised on the description when booking so very misleading. I’m definitely going to request a full refund for my stay

Decent hotel for the price in that area.

Receptionist was polite and very helpful on arrival. my room was simple and clean and bed was ok for comfort. The Gardens are beautiful. i sat outside for a drink and dinner but the outside furniture was in a poor state and not clean.

The receptionist wasn’t very welcoming when we checked in. No explanation on where the pool was and when it could be used. Asked if we wanted an evening meal but no menu was shown so we thought it would be in our room, sadly not! Had booked a superior room, if that was superior I would hate to stay in a standard room! The hotel part is NOT in the beautiful old building that the property features on their Expedia images, which I found to be misleading. Superior room was very small, dark, on the ground (more like underground) floor and shower leaks all over the bathroom floor. Convenient for the Harry Potter stuff but that's about it.

Not exceptional despite reviews

Tired hotel. Obviously gets a lot of single night stayers due to proximity to the film studios, so repeat business isn't a priority. Cold bedroom, bed too short, bathroom poorly maintained. Uninviting bar with commercial radio on way too load, filthy carpet and TV on but no sound. Maybe a blessing in disguise actually; being able to see adverts for pile cream is bad enough while you're eating, perhaps best not to hear about it too. Although this hotel has many "exceptional" reviews, it is very far from being exceptional, and average at best. I had a superior room. There was nothing superior about it. Did not live up to my expectations in any way whatsover. Won't return unless desperate. The price bracket is for an average hotel, and that is what it is.
