Arlene was a great host. I got lost several times trying to find her home in the dark, and she patiently guided me each time, even standing outside waving a flashlight until I finally found her. The studio unit itself is no bigger than a decent-sized hotel room. But Arlene has stuffed it full of everything you might need and added some thoughtful extras that make it feel homey. The king bed was comfy and everything in the unit worked well. I found it a great option for a solo traveler like me, and it would also be good for a couple that doesn’t mind being in the same room for the entire stay. (If you need separate corners to retreat to, you won’t find them here unless one of you hides in the bathroom or outside.)Interestingly, I counted 25(!) different signs in that small space taped onto walls, doors, and surfaces telling guests how to use something or not break something. If you can take those as products of Arlene’s devotion to her rental units, you’ll be quite happy staying here. I was.Quiet neighborhood. Pretty lakefront scenery. I was greeted by wild peacocks each morning when I left for my car – you don’t get that at the Marriott!
