"Villa Giulia" – 4 guests is one of the private houses available in "Casa Conti di Sotto" a very nice farmholiday choose by Discovery Channel between the 3 best location of Maremma Tuscany that has received 10/10' for the location.
Casa Conti di Sotto is at only 1 km by Gavorrano ( a touristic place with bar, pizzerias, big supermarket open also on Sunday, Theatre, sagre, shops) and at only 12 km from the best beach of Tuscany: the natural reserve of Cala Violina, the Golf of Follonica, Torre Mozza, Punta Ala Baratti beach.
"Villa Giulia"is a beautiful house with a big and exclusive area outside which faces the garden, furnished with gazebo for outdoor dining; the houses consists of two double bedrooms, a dining room with a big fireplace made of stone, a kitchen (with fridge and freezer. dish washer, microwave , espresso Lavazza, moka, coffe american machine, toaster, mixer, ), one bathroom with shower; it is provided with a dishwasher, and satellite TV with dvd-dvx.

Villa Giulia is one of the 2 houses choose by Discovery Channel that you can see on the movie in our private web page.The cost is that of the villa for the whole week and includes:
sheets and towels ( weekly change ) , safe, WIFI, air condition, use of the indoor and outdoor gym, reading and music room, various play areas, the final cleaning is also included in the price. On simple request, a baby bed, high chair, playpen, bath and stroller are available free of charge (it is possible to add the baby bed in all the villas).

Rustic Elegance

On a twelve day visit around Italy and Slovenia and my daughters highlight is this one night stay. The host was quick to respond and eager to help. The views were amazing. It was the perfect break from time in the cities within Italy. When imagining how Tuscany might be, we were concerned it was a myth. We found it here.

Posto magnifico, le ville molto curate e pulite, con tutto il necessario e anche di più. La posizione davvero ottima, si arriva in un attimo in paese e in pochi minuti di auto si può raggiungere la costa. Consigliatissimo, sicuramente ritorneremo anche con la bella stagione.

Einmalig schön!

Wir wurden äußerst freundlich empfangen. Wir konnten 2 Wochen dieses außergewöhnliche Resort voll genießen. Durch die super Bahnverbindung, reisten wir zu unseren Städtetouren nur mit der Bahn, entweder direkt vom Bahnhof Gavorrano oder Bahnhof Montepescali. Das Dorf Gavorrano ist sicher ein sehr gutes Beispiel für ein toscanisches Bergdorf, sehr toller Aussicht in die toscanbische Landschaft und bis zum Meer, sehr alte Häuser, noch gut bewohnt, mit kleinem Supermarkt, einer kleinen sehr netter Bar und 2 guten Restaurants. Ich bin kein Urlauber der gerne 2 mal den gleichen Urlaubsort besucht, doch hier kann ich mir echt eine Wiederholung vorstellen.

Relaxing Rustic Tranquil

Arrived late at night but welcomed with a wonderful smile! The villa was cosy and very well equipped with our every need. The weather was fabulous, ate outside everyday, such a friendly relaxing place to be. Pool sides were well kept and the parc has plenty of well designed private spaces to wander and relax in the sun. Barbeque area was idyllic with purple wisteria and the rich fragrance of bay, lemons, oranges and rosemary was delightful. Laura the owner greeted us with enthusiasm and the family who look after the property were on hand whenever we needed. The road up is an adventure, and the local coop a great place for daily fresh local produce. We will definitely return. My son particularly loved the lizard and gecko watching. The large pool very refreshing! Everything we wanted it to be and more!!

Charming Tuscan Countryside Home

We stayed at Villa Rosmarino our family of 5. It was cozy and exactly what I picture a Tuscan countryside property to be. The views and outside areas are amazing. Clean and well taken care of. We do not speak Italian, but were able to communicate with the staff. A little difficult to find as it is up a winding hill, but we were able to with the GPS in the car. San Gimignano, Florence, and Siena were from 90 min to 2 hrs away. Beaches are close by.

Characteristic and friendly

We spent two weeks in Vila Gulia in April/May. A perfect place to stay with 2 small children. The children could explore the area including play ground themselves. There is very much to explore not only on the estate but certainly in the surroundings of Casa Conti di Sotto. The personnel is very friendly unless it is difficult to communicate in English. They understood everything we were asking for and were very helpful. The house has a well equipped kitchen and recently renovated bathroom. We will certainly come back somewhere in the future!

Charming place

We spent a perfect week with two young children in villa Mimosa. Accommodation is as good as it looks on photos and everything was clean and comfortable. Caretaker doesn't speak english but with my poor Italian and gestures I was able to get everything needed. The only disadvantage is access road which is narrow and rocky - nothing for sport cars. But I got used to it in a few days. Tip: Do not underestimate Gavorrano - there are many narrow streets and hidden passages around the "main square".

Erholsamer Urlaub jenseits vom Massentourismus

Wir haben zwei Wochen einen wunderschönen, erholsamen Urlaub jenseits vom Massen- und Pauschaltourismus verbracht und sind total begeistert. Die gesamte Anlage ist ursprünglich und mit viel Liebe zum Detail angelegt. Man findet immer ein ruhiges, schattiges Plätzchen zum Relaxen. Beide Pools sind sauber und laden dazu ein sich vor oder nach einem Ausflug abzukühlen. Etwas oberhalb ist ein Teich angelegt, der auch für Kleinkinder zum Plantschen geeignet ist. Es ist auch ein sehr hübsch angelegter Grillplatz vorhanden. Die Villa Giulia ist sehr urig eingerichtet, aber hat trotzdem einigen Komfort zu bieten, wie z.B. Flachbildferseher, den wir aber nur zu den EM-Spielen nutzten. Im Wohnraum steht ein großer Tisch mit Bänken, eine Couch ist nicht vorhanden. Töpfe, Pfannen usw. sind qualitativ in Ordnung, so dass man sich auch gut verpflegen kann ohne jeden Tag essen zu gehen. In der Nähe gibt es zwei Supermärkte. Ein kleinerer direkt im Nachbarort (mit Mittagspause) und einen großen, der alles bietet, was man braucht (durchgängig Mo-So geöffnet). Auch die Kinder waren begeistert, da es viel zu entdecken gab und nie langweilig wurde. Das Verwalterpaar ist auch sehr nett und immer hilfsbereit. Es gibt einige Restaurants in der näheren Umgebung, die recht gemütlich sind. Ausflugsziele gibt es genügend und zum Strand ist es auch nicht weit. In der nahen Umgebung haben uns die Orte Massa Maritima und Castiglione della Pescaia (am Abend sehr quirlig, von Oben hat man einen wunderschönen Ausblick) ganz besonders gut gefallen. Wenn wir wieder in die Toskana fahren, werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder ins Casa Conti di Sotto kommen. Wer Land und Leute kennen lernen möchte und keinen Wert auf ein steriles Hotelzimmer legt, wird sich hier sicher sehr wohl fühlen.

Traumurlaub in einem kleinen Stück vom Paradies

Nach unserer Anreise über Mailand und Pisa kamen wir im wunderschönen Casa conti di Sotto an und waren gleich hin und weg. Wir waren zum ersten Mal in der Toscana und sind noch immer restlos begeistert. Die Bilder in "Fewo Direkt" sind schon sehr schön, allerdings finden wir, sieht es in Wirklichkeit noch viel schöner aus. Die komplette Anlage sowie die beiden Pools und die urigen toscanischen Häuschen waren sehr sauber und gepflegt. Das Verwalterehepaar (spricht zwar weder deutsch noch englisch) ist sehr hilfsbereit, super nett und kümmert sich um alles. Auch Laura, die Vermieterin, hat uns bei ihrem Besuch auf der Anlage sehr herzlich empfangen. Es gibt zahlreiche Ausflugsmöglichkeiten und in dem kleinen Ort Gavorrano bekommt man alles was man braucht. Verschiedene Strände sind in 15 - 20 min zu erreichen. Wir haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt und gut erholen können. Deshalb haben wir direkt für dieses Jahr wieder gebucht :-) Wir zählen schon jetzt die Tage endlich wieder an diesen herrlichen Fleck der Erde zurückzukehren!!! Alexandra & Thomas mit Nils & Tim

Real Tuscan with a bit of luxury!

We stayed at Villa Giulia with out young family and it was perfect for us. The villa is rustic and authentic with a great fireplace in the kitchen and a huge dining table. Outside there are numerous eating areas and relaxation areas and the pool and hot tub are both fantastic. The staff are friendly and it's a great way to experience the real Tuscany away from the tourist masses. It's close to the coast and some great beaches and also to Siena, Florence and Tuscan classic like San Gimignano. We would thoroughly recommend these villas if you want peace and charm!

Sehr empfehlenswert!

Eine sehr schöne und gepflegte Anlage! Wir haben im Juni 2010 das erstemal hier Urlaub gemacht und gleich für 2012 gebucht. Ruhig gelegen, ideal um sich so richtig gut zu erholen. Trotzdem ist mit dem Auto alles gut und in Kürze zu erreichen. Ein klasse Ausgangspunkt für sämtliche Unternehmungen. Für uns als Familie mit 2 Kindern war dies ein absoluter Traumurlaub. Es blieben keine Wünsche offen! Die Bilder von fewo-direkt versprechen wirklich nicht zuviel! Sehr sehr empfehlenswert!

Wir kommen wieder...

2010 und 2011 waren wir im Casa Conti, erst in der Villa Mirto und dieses Jahr in der Villa Guila. Für 2012 ist wieder gebucht! Uns hat es super gefallen. Die Häuschen sind rustikal und sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, in der Küche findet man alles, was man braucht (und noch mehr). Die Anlage ist für uns und die Kinder perfekt: Keine Autos, eingezäunt, toller Grillplatz, Hausmeister sehr fleißig und vor Ort, Eisladen fußläufig im Dorf zu erreichen. Der Strand ist mit dem Auto 15min entfernt. Supermärkte sind auch in der Nähe. Für uns war es perfekt.

Peaceful and relaxed location

We booked this on the basis of good reviews on this site and were not disappointed. We stayed in Villa Rosmarino, a reasonably basic but comfortable 2 bedroom villa which looks north out over the hills. The site is very child friendly with a lovely playground, table tennis table and heated children's pool. The large pool and its surrounds is beautiful, but the unheated pool is not quite warm enough to swim in comfortably in April (although we tried a couple of times). I can imagine it is bliss in the warmer months. Short drives (15 mins or so) to local beaches, but also Siena and Pisa and other more popular tourist areas within reach if you're prepared to travel for an hour or so. Locally wine, honey and olive oil can be bought on site for very reasonable prices. We would definitely return - which is probably the best recommendation I can provide.

Rustical...

We stayed in the Ginestra which was OK, apart from the ants and other insects. Never saw the owner. The caretaker was immediately there upon our arrival to take our money, but we rarely saw him again. Swimming pool area was excellent, well cared for and very very clean. Playground area has been neglected and is not suitable for children under 3. Many cheap plastic toys were broken - probably from caretakers sons. It is a good 25 minutes drive to the beach. But the beaches are superb at Cala Violina and Punta Ala. The track alone to Gavorrano is only 2km but takes 5 minutes, due to road conditions. Gavorrano is beautiful. Location is very quiet and peaceful. The outside terrace offers wonderful views. Spectacular countryside.
