Despite being so close to the airport, the hotel is really quiet. There is a bus stop outside the hotel so it’s easy to travel to and from the airport, the train station and the centre of Geneva. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. As a solo female traveller I felt safe and secure at all times. Breakfast is buffet style with a huge choice of options. If I return to Geneva I will certainly stay here again.

In other cities a shuttle bus goes to all ibis hotels so in Geneva we waited for the ibis shuttle only to find out the hard way that the shuttle is only for one hotel. The driver acted like he’d never heard of our problem but there were two groups in our situation, having to find another way to a different ibis hotel.

The Ibis Budget at the Geneva Airport is a very basic hotel. I had a room with two single beds. The mattress was okay but the bedding was uncomfortable. The flat sheet on the bottom was loose and kept coming off the mattress. There was no pad on the mattress so not the most hygenic experience. There is just one plastic chair to sit on. The shower was okay. The breakfast was nice but the coffee came out of a machine and tasted more like "gas-station" coffee. The outlets are Swiss and therefore you have to have a specific adapter for Switzerland. (available at the reception desk for about $25 USD)
