My recent stay at Baymont by Wyndham Jacksonville Airport was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I checked in around 10 PM on October 9, 2025, and checked out less than two hours later because the conditions were completely unacceptable and unsafe. The room was filthy — dirty sheets and bedding, blood stains on the walls, unswept floors, a ceiling beginning to cave in, bugs present, and a broken stairway landing that nearly caused a family member to fall. The shower doors were filthy, and the in-room phones didn’t work — once plugged in, they had no dial tone, making it impossible to contact the front desk. When I went in person to report the issues and was told the manager wouldn’t be in until the next day and multiple guests were also in the lobby complaining about the same problems and leaving early. I have photos documenting everything. Despite clear evidence and multiple witnesses, management has refused to take full responsibility or issue a full refund, claiming their “inspection” found nothing wrong — a completely inaccurate statement. This property is a serious health and safety concern. The conditions were uninhabitable, and the lack of accountability is appalling. I’ve filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, Wyndham Corporate, and the Health Department. I strongly warn others not to stay here. Until Wyndham/Developer Inn enforces basic standards of cleanliness and guest safety, I would avoid this location at all costs.

Room good, outside not

Front desk staff was very helpful. Obviously, the property had been remodeled. Some outside areas were rundown and dirty. The worst was that, although no smoking signs were prominently displayed, there were numerous people outside the rooms smoking. As someone who is sensitive to tobacco smoke, this circumstance was distressing. However, once inside the room, the room was good and the bed was comfortable.

We arrived there to find out the first room was occupied. The second wasn’t clean and they were short staff for housekeepers. We had to wait for the supervisor house keeper to clean the toilet and change bed fitting, and dusk mop the floor. The shower had hair in it. We had to clean and added fragrance to disgust the urine smell. I was annoyed because we drove 6 hours to wait for the house keeper to clean the room. It would have been nice to know they were short staff before arriving there. The front desk accommodated us to one level room because my mom has difficulty climbing steps. The supervisor, general manager, and front desk staff was helpful because they try to solve the issue. We checked out about 0530, but it didn’t showed we checked out. I called the hotel about 0930 and the lady informed me they had to wait until house keeping check the room. I wish they told me prior to me checking out. Besides the issues above, the hotel has been updated inside the room. I wouldn’t stay her again.

First our reservation was for a king bed and when we showed up it was two queens. Second, the room was dirty, balled up hair on the floor dirt on the floor stains on the bedsheets and pillow cases. I went down to complain about these two things and they said that they could not change our room but would bring up new linens, they never did. There were no towels in the room so couldn’t shower. No trash bags in the trash cans, gross. And no coffee at the coffee maker. When the covers were pulled back there was dirt and debris on the bedding, slept fully clothed as we arrived after midnight and had no other option. The free breakfast looked terrible, looked like all microwaved food that looked as if it was left over from previous days and just reheated. Only thing I tried was the coffee as our room had none, it was terrible. If I could give this less than 1 star I absolutely would. Book this place only if you are looking for one of the most terrible hotel experiences of your life. Do not recommend.
