We found out on arrival that the place weâd booked had had a sewage issue so our host had scrambled to find us somewhere else. While we really appreciated that effort and the fact she met us at the ferry so late, the new place wasnât great. No wifi, no nearby parking and very dusty. We were told it was available for one less day then weâd booked so we said weâd leave a day early rather than her having to find us somewhere else which worked out fine but meant we paid for accommodation for that night twice. We also didnât hear back about where to leave the key and felt terrible just leaving the place unlocked.
