Was located in a nice area with a public bath and rental bikes included. Was in walking distance to a lot of eating areas and close to a train station and a 7/11 directly across. Curtains in the room blocked out a lot of light which is great. However I think the double room is too small for 2 people you need to either get the next option up or twin beds instead so there’s a bit more space. We tried to upgrade but there was nothing available and we also overhead people upgrading their room as we were checking in as it was too small. There’s also a city tax in Kyoto on top of the final bill which you may miss when looking at the prices. I do think this place is a great option compared to others just make sure to pick the bigger suite if you have 2 people.

Pros: Decent-sized room - 2 beds, good bathrooms, very healthy breakfast, perfect location. Cons: Horrible pillows — my neck still hurts. They charge 2000 yen for each key card (so for 4 people, it's 8000 yen), saying it's a deposit, but they didn’t refund it.

Excellent location convenient to the subway, which can connect you to other transit options easily. Lots of museums, shopping, and parks within walking distance. Has the feel of an older business class hotel, with the traditional style bathtub/shower and many convenient features like lighting switches on headboards, a retractable clothing line over the tub and pajamas and sandals to wear. It is slightly less soundproofed than some newer hotels, but on an upper floor I had no issues. 7/11 is right across the street for any late night convenience store needs. The laundry on the first floor gets busy but there are coin laundry facilities nearby.

The breakfast was well worth paying for. The location was ideal, close to many shopping places, and the subway was very easy to catch nearby. I also enjoyed the bike rental amenities. Overall great amenities. The rooms could have been a bit more updated but all worked out well.
