The hotel was fine overall, but a few things left us disappointed. I had booked a Premium King room, but the space was surprisingly small. While the vibe and interiors were stylish and the waitstaff were genuinely lovely, the overall experience didn’t match expectations.
We were charged an additional $45 per night for a “village amenity fee” that wasn’t clearly disclosed before booking. This was on top of the city tax, and supposedly covered services like beach access — even if you don’t use them. The frustrating part is that when you actually go to the beach, you’re told you only get two chairs included and have to pay extra for a parasol, unless you want to roast in the sun. It felt misleading and borderline scammy.
Breakfast was also underwhelming. There’s a small buffet, but anything hot, like eggs or pancakes, comes at an extra cost. You only get boiled eggs included, which felt stingy for a hotel of this level.
We apparently had VIP Access benefits, but never received the complimentary bottle of wine or any other perks. Only found out about it later, which added to the sense of being misled.
In short: nice design and lovely staff, but be wary of the hidden fees and unfulfilled promises. We left feeling like the hotel prioritised upselling over hospitality.
