I only spend 7 nights. I checked out on January 8TH please refund my credit card back. The staff were courtesy,I was sick during my stay experience severe diarrhea, had seek medical care. The staff went above and beyond caring for me with tea, medicine etc.

Staff was fantastic; truly a joy to have them around. Property was good for the price, although slightly damaged due to a recent hurricane. (Hot water didn't work until the last day I was there, but it's fixed now.) Area around the villa is pretty much "other villas" - you'll need either to rent a car, take a taxi, or walk down to the gas station to catch the bus if you want to get so the local tourist attractions. The complimentary breakfast was also excellent - traditional Jamaican cuisine (boiled plantains, potatoes, saltfish, sausage, dumplings, etc.) cooked really well. Dinner was extra ($10/person), but also consistently good. While I ate as much jerk chicken as I could throughout the day, I didn't feel any real need to try OTHER places, as the villa food was more than sufficient. This is very much a villa to stay at if you want go get away from crowds and stereotypical touristy locations.

After rushing to catch my flight..i didnt get to bathe all day..when i reach the hotel about 11pm, no water not even to brush my teeth, i couldnt sleep so i was walking the whole property, i met this guy that offer me a bath to bathe in, and i have to get the water from a black tank about 5min. Walk from the room. I left so early the following day because there was no way i could survive another hour without bathing properly. After couple days of returning home i called to ask for a compensation.for the inconvenience. I was told they cant do anything for me..I WOULD NEVER GO BACK THERE..my initial stay was with another hotel but they wasnt open as yet because of the storm.thats the reason i end up there. So they werent ready to open as yet all because of money they hurry to open and inconvenience me for my hard earn money...

Villa Sonate is a lovely property with a very welcoming staff. My room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and always had toiletries and clean, thick towels. The Jamaican breakfast was delicious every morning. Even after Hurricane Melissa, there was hot water in the shower and a beautifully manicured garden. The staff worked hard to cleanup and restore the grounds. This was my third wonderful stay. I'm very comfortable at Villa Sonate.
