At its center is a roughly 1,000-square-foot great room beneath ten-foot ceilings, finished with a seamless floor and white gallery walls, where the kitchen, dining, and living areas dissolve into one continuous, undivided space. Picture rails run throughout, so the room is made for art, gathering, cooking, and spreading out. A hospital-track curtain can enclose the living area as a private space whenever you want it, and a concealed recess tidies away the television.
The kitchen is the heart of the home and was clearly designed by someone who loves to cook. It's fully outfitted for a real meal your first night: a 240-volt Viking convection oven (a baker's and pizza-maker's dream), a separate Bosch range top with a high-power hood, a large stainless center island, a restaurant-style hard-spray faucet over a double-basin sink, and a magnetic backsplash with undercabinet lighting.
The bedroom rises to a sloped twelve-foot ceiling on a hand-rubbed titanium-white floor, daylit by windows on two walls and finished with built-in "his and hers" cabinetry, bedside sconces, a ceiling fan, and double doors opening onto its own private terrace. It comes furnished and ready for the first night's sleep. The adjoining master bath is genuinely cavernous for a one-bedroom, with a walk-in doorless rain shower, a shower bench, recessed niches, and a floating vanity. A separate powder room off the main room means guests never wait in line or wander back toward the bedroom.
Storage becomes a theme the longer you stay — built-in cabinetry runs through the foyer, dining and living areas, kitchen, and bedroom in such abundance you may run out of things to put away.
Outdoors, a walled backyard of roughly 800 square feet is yours alone, wrapped in climbing greenery that lets in light while quietly shutting out the world, with a potting area, floodlights, and a return-net basketball hoop so you shoot rather than chase. A private terrace off the bedroom extends the living space into the open air.
The home is quietly over-built for comfort: hydronic radiant floor heat governed by smart thermostats for winter, split-system air conditioning for summer — though the hopper windows and ceiling fans move air so freely across the open plan that you may seldom need it. There's a dedicated laundry room with a full-size washer and gas dryer (not crammed into the kitchen), recessed lighting, ceiling speakers in every room, hardwired security cameras front and back, and FIOS.
The Neighborhood
This is an exceptional Brooklyn block with genuinely welcoming neighbors, sitting quietly about two-thirds of the way down a long cross-Brooklyn street where Bushwick floods into classic Bed-Stuy — elevated J/M/Z tracks overhead, old brownstone streets on one side and Bushwick's makers and cafés on the other, with a neighborhood ball field nearby for weekend afternoons.
The trains are genuinely close: the J at Halsey Street is a couple of blocks away, the L at Bushwick Avenue–Aberdeen Street is a short walk, and the C stops nearby at Rockaway Avenue. A little farther, the J, A, C, and L all converge at Broadway Junction for fast, flexible passage into Manhattan and across Brooklyn. For drivers, about half a mile up Bushwick Avenue reaches the Jackie Robinson Parkway.
Honest Notes
This is a place worth loving, and it deserves an honest description. Some finishes are still a little rough and a few details remain to be completed; the materials are high-end, but the hand behind them is honest and informal rather than polished to a showroom shine. It is fundamentally an open-plan one-bedroom — the large main room and the bedroom, and nothing more — which makes it wonderful for the right guest and a poor fit for anyone needing additional separate rooms. Standing inside conveys far more than any listing ever could.
