Would avoid in the future

Service is okay. However, the standard rooms are very small (even for NYC standards) and outdated. There is 1 elevator (lift) serving 14 floors, so often you need to wait for people to go up and down before managing to get a space (specially challenging if you have luggage) and our stay was not in high season. The breakfast is included, but is not great for the price you pay for the stay (cold hotdog sausages, mash and other continental bits), the room where breakfast is served is small, so long waits at peak time to get a table can be expected. If you’re looking for an eco-friendly hotel, this is not it, at breakfast all cutlery is plastic, paper plates and cups and single use plastic water bottles. The location is good if you want to walk or get the tube to the main touristic places, but as it’s very touristy it’s very noisy at all times, including early hours of the morning (we were quite high up).

Really pleased with this stay, a hotel that never comes up in Facebook discussions. Great price, and location, near Macys. Pleasant and helpful staff, really clean and not too noisy. Breakfast is basic, but its also the first one i've stayed in New York that includes breakfast. They have discount deals with some local restaurants, i loved the Harold. Would stay here again without question

Very nice hotel in a great location. Plain room but larger than typical for Manhattan. And they even have daily Continental breakfast. Steps from subway. Being on the edge of K-town, you have great close-by options for excellent Korean food. I was very pleased.

Great location, good staff, older place

An 8 night stay in a great location. Easy walk to Penn Station, Times Square and the Empire State Building. Subway close by. Lots of restaurants and bars around. Most Major Broadway theatres are an easy walk. The hotel staff are excellent - friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very dated and could definitely do with a makeover. The room was small, with a closet. There was a fridge, room safe, desk. Convenient charging points. A nice wine bar and an adequate Continental breakfast. The bed was the most comfortable I've had in the last 2 months of travelling around the USA. Unfortunately the Wi-Fi rarely connected, and the heating was often blowing cold air even when on maximum heat. Whilst the shower had good hot water and water pressure, it usually took nearly 2 minutes for hot water to actually come out. I would stay again for a short stay, but a longer stay, I would find somewhere else.
