This hotel is located right at the upper end of Manhattan, close to the Bronx. Not exactly a posh area. People drinking in parked cars at 7 a.m.! However, you don't feel unsafe.
The hotel is very unusual and funky. Good for a weekend break. Decent gym. Rooms - clean, but avoid the cheapest ones, as they are extremely small and claustrophobic. Go for the bigger ones. You will get a fair bit of noise from adjoining rooms/ corridors. Not really designed for business travelers, the chair/ desk setup is quite uncomforable. This hotel is for tourists who need a relatively inexpensive place to stay, close to the subway. The restaurant is great.
