Great welcome..

After seeing the poor reviews we were very worried about our stay. It was much better than expected, the staff were very friendly and it was clean enough. The onsens were great and facilities ok, breakfast was great.. location great.. Property could clearly do with some money spent on it but this didnโ€™t spoil our stay..

Very attentive and helpful staff. Rooms are very basic but clean Air conditoner worked well and staff came in the evening to set up futons for sleeping. Convenient location only a short walk from Beppu station and shops and restaurants. Very traditional Japanese accomodations. Recommend to stay for 1 or 2 nights as sleeping on a futon is not the best .

Run down and overpriced

Don't bother! Place is unbelievably run down, reckon it's had no maintenance since it was built. The most expensive hotel we have stayed in in Japan and the worst quality. Clearly taking advantage and gouging world cup tourists! Then despite your booking clearly stating paid in full including all fees and taxes they wanted more money at check out... total rip off merchants
