Great service. Great property if you purchase the unlimited xcaret pass as you don’t need to commit the whole day to the park - that way, you can go in and out to do short activities as you please. The park is also very easily accessible from the resort. Great food. The beach restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Some areas of the property did not smell great but other then that, I would highly recommend.

Overall this property is no more than 3 stars. Its a large resort and while its not run down, it could use improvements. The food in the specialty restaurants were terrible. Everything was either bland or way too salty. I have been to a few all-inclusives in Mexico and this had the worst food. The buffet was repetitive and nothing tasted fresh. The room was clean but nothing special. The amenities in the bathroom didnt include conditioner or a hair dryer which was annoying. The towels and linen were old and worn and should have been replaced a while ago. There are mutliple buildings and everything is a far walk from each other. Our building was close to the pools but 10 mins in either direction from the restaurants or the beach. There are a few pools spread around. We stayed mostly at the adult's pool as the first time we went to the main pool we saw a turd. We believe it was from the iguanas in the area and we let a worker know but it turned us off from returning to that pool. With so many animals and wildlife the resort needs to be more mindful about cleaning more frequently. I would not return to this resort.

Wonderful place and a great staff. Only thing we don’t like, is there is a concierge desk in each hotel lobby, and you can not avoid walking past everytime you come and go from your room. They wanted us to sit down for some seminar for 30 mins to get some discount tickets to xcaret. (For a time share or some membership thing) So everytime you walk to your room it’s awkward cuz they want to talk to you. And…. The buffet food could have been a bet better. Other than that it a very nice place.

Loved our stay at Occidental Xcaret! Rooms were clean, staff were all friendly and prompt with anything we needed. The walking paths and grounds were beautiful, so many animals and cool things to see - the ruins at night were a favourite! Thoroughly enjoyed the beach and the bonus swimming "hole" by the rocks. Our only drawback was the lack of hot water in our room - not sure if it was just our timing, but our showers were often lukewarm at best and sometimes downright cold. Otherwise, an incredible place!

The only downsides I have is that the property was HUGE, the bed was slightly uncomfortable and the water in the pools was really really cold!! All things that one can get over because the staff were great, the property was beautiful and full of wildlife. Food was better than other all inclusives I have stayed at.

Good location Easy to go to Xcaret parks, Nice view, Room facility are pretty old, The membership presentation kind of too pushy. After we had dinner in seafood restaurant my wife and I both got very bad vomited and the diarrhea couldn't enjoy the trip after that.

Staff in all areas were absolutely amazing! We enjoyed the shows even the ones in the lobby, every night. The beach was great had an eating place and a bar, something for everyone. My grandson didn’t have any sand toys and a staff member noticed and went a got him some. I could go on and on. 5 star in every area.

Initial worries due to other negative reviews regarding rooms and food. Rooms were average- some wear, but overall kept clean with daily housekeeping. Food— there was lots of options- buffet had something for everyone. I can see why some travellers dislike the food/ it’s a lot of Mexican food-maybe some dishes most people have never heard of- but you’re in Mexico so not sure why the complaints. So many non Mexican dish options as well. Buffet was plentiful- steaks, lobster, shrimp, fish- tacos etc etc. grounds were beautiful, lots of wildlife, beautiful trees, many paths to walk. Cons- some hot water issues and plumbing problems with toilets backing up in some buildings-no hot water in some rooms. we weren’t affected but our family was- however staff quick to work at resolving. There was a septic smell in the bathrooms- but nothing to ruin a vacation. We had a great time and enjoyed the resort and all it had to offer.
