Generally we're satisfied with everything,but if you really picky I am sure you are not going to rate Senator as a 5 stars hotel. We spent a good time over there, but wasn't the best resort what we have ever been.

The staff was not friendly or welcoming. Bartenders looked visibly annoyed when we came to order drinks. When spanish speakers came to the bar next to us, the bar tenders were all smiles. The Drink choices are limited and bottom shelf. Higher grade liquor was an extra cost or you had to be a member of their time share. The food was sub-par, and the rooms were very out dated. This property was not as advertised and on top of that their concierge fallowed us around all week trying to get us to go to their timeshare presentation. The only posatives I can give is the beach and pool were beautiful. Also once we raised our frustrations to the concierge they did their best to make it right.

At the Senator, the buffet staff stop you at the door to ask your room number, as if being inside the resort weren't enough. They also treat foreign guests with better behavior. At the Playa Bachata resort, they have better customer service, except for the employee who works in the pasta and pizza area at Playa Bachata. That man has no customer service and was always angry. The food at the Senator's buffet was the same every day, there was no variety. The cleanliness was very good, and my pool room at the Senator was a good experience. But that's the only positive thing I took away from the resort.
